What's your 1 RM on seated barbell shoulder press?
Rarely see people doing this exercise so kinda hard to know what's a good number to shoot for.
What's your 1 RM on this?

Never tried a 1 rep max, but in my experience i can lift about 10-15% more on seated shoulder press when compared to standing OHP, so maybe shoot for something like that (i.e 110-115% of your OHP)?

Nice bench brah. Hit those 2 plates on standing bb shoulder press yet?

I was doing this and flat bench as main pressing movements when I was last lifting in 2021. I was repping (5-8 reps) 185 in seated OHP when I coming up on a 3 plate bench (240x8, 275x3, had worked through the program with an *expected* 320 bench).

Noticed any decent shoulder gains from seated bb shoulder press?

Not sure, I'll attempt it next time I do shoulders. Been only doing push press for several years now.

I wasnt too thoughtful/deliberate in programming it - basement ceiling just wasn't high enough for standing - but it did really hit differently. AlphaDestiny had a good video on seated OHP since then that made me think I should revisit it if/when I get back to lifting.

1) I have never even attempted a 1RM shoulder press
2) Not sure exactly what it would prove
3) Sounds like a shoulder injury waiting to happen
4) I could fk you whole day up with 30lb dumbbells

Do a few sets for hypertrophic at the end to get a pump and round things out as accessory lifts

I used to be pretty big into that lift. I did 225x5 and then did 250 for a single. Was around 10 years ago.
