In 1 year I took my natty test from 761 to 1,179. Also I'm 42 years old

Got my blood test results back from Sept 13. Almost collapsed when I saw the number: 1179 ng/dL test level. I think that's higher than than when I was 22. On Nov 2 of last year (so ~10 months ago) I had a blood test come back with 761 ng/dL for testosterone. I recall an older one being 651 or so.

At the end of the day it all comes down to diet and lifting. Here are the changes I made in my life between the 761ng/dl result and the 1,179 result:

Food
* Adopted a "mostly" carnivore diet. Specifically I made sure to eat some quantity of red meat (ruminant animal meat or organs) every single day, usually steak or ground beef.
* Six eggs per day. Doesn't have to be all at once
* Went from almond milk back to cow milk. But I make sure I get grass-fed cow milk
* In addition to eating red meat, then supplement it with fish, chicken, pork, duck, and aforementioned eggs.
* I tried to eat mackeral or sardines every single day, but that got real old real fast. I've seen doctors say that one can eat mackeral, sardines or anchovies every day without worrying about heavy metal toxicity, but still
* With meat being ~85% of my diet, rest is a mix of yogurt, tree nuts, and veggies.
* Treat sugar like it's absolute poison

Workout
* Adopt a 3 day routine, with occasional rest days
* One day for the compound lifts (squats, deads, bench, chinup, and seated cable row).
* One day for shoulders (srs).
* One day cardio.
* Focused on form rather than strength building, sort of. I had previously done Starting Strength for like 9 months (back years ago) and realized that even though I'd gotten to a satisfactory plate # for squats, my form was atrocious. Same with deads. So I hit the reset and try to do as many reps with perfect form, rather than adding more & more weight. Only recently have I started gradually increasing my squat & dead amount since "reseting"

Supps
* 2000IU of Vitamin D in the morning, and another 2000IU of it at night
* 15mg of Zinc in the morning, another 15mg at night
* For a brief period back in July I took tongkat ali, ashwaganda, and fenugreek after reading more books/docs on which supps supposedly help & don't help
* I think Fenugreek really does increase test, so I still take it but on a month-on and month-off basis (600mg morning, 600mg night). I am cautious with it only because I've read about people complaining about breast tissue increase, which I totally don't want.

At the end of the day, upping my dietary cholesterol, Vit D, and animal fat content in my diet likely had the biggest impact. Best advice I can give the guys on this forum that are 20 years younger: Take care of your body and your body will take care of you. Eat quality grass-fed meat and do lifts with proper form and you're golden.

Correct me if I'm wrong but your levels were already good?

What inspired this change or was it just a side effect of general lifestyle changes.

Any tangible difference in day to day life?

Worrying about having high test levels solely so you can get high numbers on a piece of paper seems silly.
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

Not true. It depends on your free testosterone. Free testosterone is biologically available to use by your body. Having high testosterone doesn’t mean anything.

Don’t speak donkey? The idea behind binding testosterone is a mechanism to prevent what you’re claiming. Even if you increase your test to 2000, your SHBG goes up along with it. Not only that as you age, SHBG goes up naturally.

Cholesterol:

LDL was 88
HDL was 65
Triglycerides was 44

Now
LDL is 112
HDL is 82
Triglycerides is 43

So yes there was a noticeable jump for HDL and LDL. But nowhere near a danger zone for LDL (the "bad" cholesterol). Also, every carnivore/keto person out there admits that your cholesterol will increase somewhat, but that your tri's are the real indicator of poor health.

Mirin. Your glow up thread inspired me greatly years ago.

Watch your ApoB levels though. I know carnivore dudes will say it and ldl are no big deal, but I’d disagree. Peter Attia is very pro statin, as keeping ApoB low enough over long enough should prevent any atherosclerosis from forming.

Yeah I have no idea. Right. It doesn’t matter how much test your body is producing if it’s bound due to SHBG and unusable.

test influences growth of blood vessels which is a primary factor in tumor growth so I could see a causal link.

I'd rather not step outside my body's natural checks and balances. I understand that there are some in which their body has already betrayed them.

Love when people chime in saying something is bad and dangerous but instead of posting information they whine and say "go look it up!"

test's affect on cancer isn't well studied...or known but that doesn't mean there isn't a causal link. It has been PROVEN that tumors grow faster with more circulation, uncontrollable. It has been PROVEN that test dramatically increases tissue vascularity.

2+2=4

https://news.cancerresearchuk.org/20...k-of-melanoma/

Ever notice more skin tags from test use? Imagine if you got skin cancer....the test would directly support its growth.

I like how the poor always complain about the rich not paying taxes. They also complain the government doesn’t give them more free stuff. The rich pay for most of the government spending and the poor don’t and just take from the government. **** the poor go get a better job and life.
