I paid $20 for it I think, and let it sit for about a year until they patched the game. Now I have it loaded into my PS5 with the free update.

What a comeback. I think this is the first time Baldur's Gate 3 has been beaten by a single-player game in concurrent player numbers in steam since it was released

I'm probably not gonna touch the DLC for a good 2 weeks. Started a new build and don't want to rush. Sucks I can't play with everybody.

So I said fuk it and decided to start over. Original playthrough is at lvl 42 with Hanako waiting at embers for quite some time.
Everything feels different. I feel like if I tried to respec into what I had before, I'd just be lost.
I'm skipping through the dialogue I remember so I can quickly get back to the questing.
Last time was throwing knives, gorilla arms type build. This time I'm going with Katana since it can block fukking bullets, throwing knives for sneaky snake action, and not sure what guns I wanna use yet.
I like the cyberware changes, and it seems like going to a ripperdoc is going to matter more than before. The crafting is better since I don't have to keep track of a million pieces.
This might end up being one of my favorite games. When I catch up to where I was before, I'll probably buy the DLC.
Crazy to think this is where the game is now compared to the disgusting PS4 release. Not even hyperbole, the OG PS4 release was embarrassing, though I still enjoyed my time with it for the most part. Then 1.6 finally fixed it, but when I got the PS5, I understood why people said they never should have even attempted to release the game on last gen consoles. Now we have 2.0.
Imagine the hype if it released like this.

I pre-ordered the expansion but I probably won't be in Dogtown for a good few days too.

I did a 100 percent shotgun build in my first playthrough. Did not stealth even 1 percent of the game. Ran in with my double barrel like a manaic and killed everyone in every mission.
Might do mele this time around to change it up. I ain't about that stealth life, I'm bout that cyber murder life
I also didn't realize the mele builds were so cool until I finished playing lol
Gunna start playing today finally.

And i might be sticking with the blunt weapon build. Deflecting bullets with a sword is so good but I wanna try smashing the ground with a hammer and and also throwing bodies lol

I just started it. Are there any settings in the options I should adjust for a better experience? Already turned aim assist off and put the difficulty to hard mode. Turned film grain etc off too

I'd also turn off the overhead damage numbers. They'd just obstruct your view of the enemy sometimes and just add clutter to the screen. You won't need them much. It's on the interface options.
Once you're more experience you can turn off more HUD to free your screen more

I'm 2 hours in. Why tf is HDR off by default? Turned it on and the city comes alive, neon glowing bright, lights actually look like lights etc, but it completely greyed out the blacks. Messed with the settings and had to turn on Black level enhancer on my TV to make the blacks blacker and it looks decent now. But holy chit thats some of the worst HDR implementation of any game I've played.
Man this game has a lot going on, hard to wrap my head around but I guess that's the case with all RPGs if you're new to them. Beat up some beta robot in a boxing ring, now I'm out in the city ready to start doing missions. So much fkin lore, at least 15 mins were spent just reading chit and browsing the websites/emails in game. I can see myself getting wrapped up in this game. It gives me serious G-Police vibes, I wonder if the devs took some inspiration from those games

Tip to new players:
Get the Reinforced Tendons leg cyberware as soon as you can. It'll allow you to perform a double jump so you'll be able to get around areas easier and it's just fun.

Kinda connected to the discussion above. Any pccel nvidia cuck out there who have tried nvidia game filters for this game? I imagine you can get pretty good results. Might experiment on it later. I've tried it with R6 Siege to make the colors more vibrant as it can help you identify enemies easier.

I think I'm gonna go for a Dark Knight build. I'm thinking Max Melee, Max Vehicle combat, Stealth, Fast movement, and just enough intelligence for weapon glitching.

Black brahs in the game have a weird shade of black when hdr is turned on, no racist ... might have been the lighting in the particular area tho lol.
Or maybe I'm just spoiled by the oled, but cant hook up the PC to the tv to try it out anyway.
