I won't argue the other criticisms about the game even though I disagree with them, but with the bold part, I very strongly disagree. There's so many missions in the game where there is no killing involved, well it depends on your approach really. There are many ways to skin the cat in most of the missions in cyberpunk so saying that the entire game is just killing and collecting something is the most ridiculous thing I've heard about it. It sounds like something from someone who didn't play the game srs.

This

None of the main missions, side missions, and gigs in CP77 were repetitive, they are so varied. That's why what he said about the game feels like from someone who didn't play the game or just went in there, ignored the missions, and just killed people on sight.

this is just a fanboyism take

none of the gigs were repetitive? lol ok

the main story, the missions are a bit more varied but if you just play the main story you finish the game in a couple of days

if you put 'cyberpunk boring' into google you see a lot are saying the same thing

i can appreciate parts of this game and like i said it's worth a try but it has it's flaws and being repetitive is one of them

it's one of those games that's always going to split opinions

you could find it enjoyable, you could also find it pretty boring

i think it's pretty good overall, looks pretty, massive in scale, cool weapons, the world itself is interesting etc

but i can also understand why others don't like it as the entire game is pretty much go here, kill a bunch of guys, collect something, repeat (whereas in gta5 or rdr2 every mission felt different/this is why you don't want to compare to those games)

the story.....i'm not a big fan of but this is subjective. there's a lot of endless dialogue about nothing

there are some things in the game you'll be scratching your head wondering why the fuk they put that in like the braindances

there are still bugs, but you can look past them

i haven't exactly sold it but it's worth a try
GTA isn't better. It's actually pretty shallow with nothing to do but missions. You're driving back and forth doing missions, nothing else.

RDR2 is great because you can go fishing, hunting, bounty hunting, rob trains/coachs, help npc, etc. The world is really alive.

Can you tell us which gigs are repetitive, then?

He's probably talking about the ncpd scanner quests which seem kind of repetitive, but there's a back story for all of them.

I was thinking the same, if there's anything repetitive, it's the ncpd scanner hustles which are the smallest "quests" in the game. And they're mostly there for players to earn more money and exp, but yeah if you read the shards that accompany them and examine the scene, there's a backstory behind them which adds to the world building of the game.

As for the side quests and gigs, it would be interesting if he could provide any that are identical to each other.

I didn't really consider those ncpd things quests, anytime I drove by one I'd just hop out and murder everyone real quick. Some of them legit took like 10 seconds and were only like 3 or 4 enemies

I got this at launch on PC and loved it. Didn't hurt that I have an RTX 3080. I played through all the endings and spent a lot of time after the game was over exploring everywhere. I restarted it to mess around with the 2.0 changes before I got the DLC and this time around I just don't really feel it. Maybe it's because I know the story (I've replayed Skyrim/FO4/New Vegas multiple times and still like the story beats) but the game doesn't really catch me this time. I'll most likely finish it so I can be a complete dick to Johnny this time around but will wait for the DLC to go on sale and will probably end up playing it on my old save where I was "good" because I don't feel the need to do everything this playthrough.

Bought the base game + PL on a discount, just started the heist.

I diked around for a bit and levelled to 8 or 9, gameplay, story and most of the game are pretty solid so far, but it feels like Iโ€™m spending half of my gametime holding the scan button to find things to pick up.

I also find Jackie a bit grating. And have no idea what the deal with the brain dance is supposed to be, spent like 10 minutes rewinding/ffing and switching layers just to find all the bs clues for Judy.

If you dislike braindances, don't worry, that braindance is the biggest/longest braindance you'll have to do in the game.

This has got to be the buggiest major release I've ever played, even after these years of bug fixes- Not in terms of constant small glitches, but game breaking ones.

The first minor but embarrassing glitch is the first time you are told to get in a car and drive to Jackie, it would not let me control the car and I had to walk, after that driving was fine.

The second widely reported bug is that during an early story mission a glitch effect is applied to your vision thats meant to be temporary, but if you tell Johnny he is screwed in the head it can become permanent, requiring a reload once you eventually realize this is a bug.

Most recently and severely I realized that I could not take any damage, which either required replaying around 3 hours or editing my save file manually, which I opted to do.

Have been enjoying the game more than I expected in general but dear god.

Someday? Someday my dream will come? One night you will wake up and discover it never happened. It's all turned around on you. It never will. Suddenly you are old. Didn't happen, and it never will, because you were never going to do it anyway.

I ran into that glitch where I couldn't drive after talking with Jackie because I entered through the passenger side. Reloaded the last save and entered through driver door. Annoying AF. The other I didn't get, fortunately.

Besides that one haven't run into any glitches. I'm LOVING this game so far. About 35 hrs in going with a shotgun/katana build and mangling these dudes apart up close.

It's certainly fun but it's unfortunate how severe the bugs are when they do pop up. For all its jank in two playthroughs of the Witcher 3 I haven't had to edit files or reload ancient saves lol. The AI does seem to struggle with hacking strategies, though now that I am encountering more augmented enemies they have some countermeasures finally.

Weird, been no-lifing the game for straight three weeks now and have only encountered minor issues. The game for me runs better than Witcher 3 next gen and just with the same amount of minor bugs (except for the Johnny/relic thing which has been address in update 2.01) But I know experiences varies from person to person. Could be that your old saves are affecting your game files somehow or you might wanna try a clean reinstall, which I did before update 2.0

Alright I jumped back into Cyberpunk.

This Batman melee only build is gonna be real interesting considering I'm on the hardest difficulty and multiple enemies are shooting at me from a distance. I like the challenge, just gotta figure out the right specs and get the best armor.

I'm also playing on the hardest difficulty and already have 20 body 20 tech and 17 reflexes but dang being surrounded by multiple enemies firing at me still gets me killed quite fast so I still need to thin out their numbers with ranged weapons first before going at them with melee weapon. Might be a different story if I'm using a sandevistan but I mixed in a netrunner build too.

I may have to go sandevistan, idk yet. It's definitely peaks my interest on figuring how to get it to work.

Man, I haven't played since OG version but somewhat through the expansion and sometimes just sit there and I just cannot believe how good this game looks. Best looking game I have ever played really, and the gameplay is phenomenal. Game has turned into something truly truly great, it was fun originally but they added so much.

Currently a Netrunner/Smart weps but

Spoiler!
just got Her Majesty and might spec into pistols now. In the diving mission now and the underwater looks unreal. This looks like it's gonna be a fun ass mission brb boys

Really tempted to get a 4090 (currently 3080) to experience this at max max levels. But even with the 3080 it is gorgeous

Gorilla arms is so OP, take no damage when blocking and you can just spam counters. It's so fkin easy to counter in this game their punches are telegraphed a year in advance

Problem with sandevistan is that if you've already put attribute points on intelligence, they'll basically be wasted because you won't be able to use hacks when sandy is equipped and I put 16 points on int and already used my 1x reset option. Also hacking cars and controlling them like remote control cars is so fun

Yep...been playing this game, what, 3 years now?...and still it blows my mind how god damn good it looks. There's NO other game out currently that looks as good as this game on PC with ultra graphics and RT maxed out. Sometimes I see certain parts of Night City, especially at night, and I have to just stop for a bit and admire how insanely good RED Engine is. Almost makes me sad they're ditching it for Unreal Engine 5 now, because clearly it's capable of incredible graphics. Nothing on any other engine, including Unreal 5 has looked as good as Cyberpunk yet.

Just did a side quest where I hacked a laptop then drove out into the desert and stole a painting that came from the moon lol wut. Is there someone I can sell it to to make tons of money? The side quests are a lot of fun tbf. Found some roof party, some dudes let me do a shooting range challenge and take a shot after every stage, then they realised who I am so I had to massacre them all and stole a pretty good gun

When it comes to interactions, I think you can't go wrong either way, as it seems like meeting a lot of people outside the expansion will open up more interaction options within the expansion. But if you start the expansion as early as possible, it'll also open up more interaction/dialogue options for the other people you'll meet in the base game

Gameplay wise, you may want to get into the expansion early or at least mid game because of the relic skill tree which adds more dynamic to gameplay. You can also get some really good iconic weapons from the airdrops that only happens in Dogtown.

If you didn't have prior interaction with that faction that turned sour, they'd actually be chill in the party and just let you go with the reward with no altercation.

I've been ignoring the main quests and just doing a bunch of side quests for now, probs time to progress the main story though to even things out a bit. It's fun just killing anyone who chats chit though or tries to be a smart arse

I finished Phantom Liberty, its now 5:35am and I was supposed to go to bed but I wanted to see out both 'good' and bad endings.

Fuk man, this game is an absolute M A S T E R P I E C E, plain and simple.

if you havent finished story dont click srs
Spoiler!
The bad endings better IMO, the good one is plain ol depressing asf losing everything and everyone just leaves you. Other than Viktor at least he tried, that's my homie.

Then getting beat by the street thugs was the nail in the coffin.

Honestly that's why I don't really believe in "bad endings" or "worst endings" in rpgs with different endings like Cyberpunk. It really depends on how you perceive what's good and bad. I got what the CP77's community considers as the worst ending in my first playthrough and it's always my canon ending because it was authentic to the choices I made in the game and it all made sense considering how I played it and how I made my decisions.
