Would you buy a new Tacoma with $1400 +-$150 a month left

Crunched my numbers I net $5815 and after everything I still have around $1400 left I am sick of pouring money into my 09 Corolla and it's actually not safe to drive anymore needs new tires and abs light is on check engine light constantly comes on sick of this car..let's say i can get a 90 month financing with $2000 down on a new Taco and try to get the monthly down to $550/ mo on the longer term finance option would you do it

Poor cell logic. Doesn't want to spend $1200 on repairs so will drop $10,000+ on interest.

3. when enough money is saved, buy USED car cash

You didn't wake up today and hate this car, you have for a long time. You shouldve been saving money in that time to replace it in a financially responsible manner. Avoid interest like the plague.

You main goal with autos should be to get to the point where you never have another auto loan and instead pay cash. 100% srs and it's not that hard to do.

Yep... Though I will say. If you are poor. Skip the 5k cash car and get the 15k Civic with 5k down and a 10k loan.

That Dave Ramsey chit burned me when I was young and took a few years to get over.

"not safe to drive"...needs tires and some dash lights on....lol

Put new tires on the Rolla.....figure out the dash lights, sell for 10k.....add $5k to it and pay cash for something.

Just imagine paying $550 (which is probably highly optimistic) for 7+ years.


I've got 3 vehicles for a total value of like 65k. paid cash for 2 of them and 1 is financed -60 months @ 0% bought in 2020. I couldn't say no. Don't be stupid.

i'd have just liability insurance on the corolla...that alone would save about $700 a year. gas will be cheaper too. yearly property tax in my state would be about $100 for the corolla vs $600 for the tacoma.

There are a dozen ways to do it, and the first auto is the most difficult. But once you achieve that, drive it a few years then write a check for the difference on a new one.

It's pretty damn satisfying when the dealer asks you what you want your payment to be and you say "zero". They literally don't know how to respond.

the only point in financing is usually if you have a very low interest rate and don't want to drop a large downpayment right away

Looking at his net income, He works a good job, what's the point in piling up money and not buying himself something nice? Assuming he has no other crazy debt and a good credit score, I'd say go for it.

I'd get the corolla repaired then stack up for year for a big down payment.
