You get a little microcosm of time on this earth. Make the most of it.

lol at seeing names on a piece of paper and thinking you know anything about them and what they stood for.

You think five generations from know, what makes you you will be accurately portrayed to those generations?

A family tree is not a legacy.

Here is the important part everyone is missing, even huge legacies are temporary.

Apple will stop being a company one day. The US will not be a country one day. Hitler’s name will stop being said. Your little family tree is nothing compared to these, and they will stop existing one day. We as individuals do not have a chance. Literally.

This is in fact all temporary. Nothing can be done about that. Laws of nature.

PS: Don't eat poop, just don't let the idea of it stop you from living life to its fullest.

Yep, I've made that argument many times.

I'm not knocking people if they genuinely want to have kids (more power to them, assuming they are responsible and can actually take care of and raise them well), but the "muh legacy" is just 100% feels and 0 logic. Peak NPC.

If you're royalty with a kingdom to pass on, then it might have some merit, but otherwise...

Never understood people who care about this chit.

One day our solar system will be gone and there won't even be evidence remaining that a human race ever existed, and time will continue forward. The entirety of human existence will amount to a grain of sand at the beach compared to the cosmic time scale.
Legacy and being remembered is such a dumb thing to live for.

Careful, sounding an awful lot like a nihilist with maybe a bit of relativism added in.

You are correct however. Nothing actually matters, but what matters to the individual.
