it can vary from person to person. if the person exercises and has a good diet, then the aging process shouldn't be too bad. then again there's also genetics that can randomly **** **** up.

Around 15 years ago I had a business that brought in no less than $1.2mm/yr gross profit every year for the decade prior; suddenly crashed and I went through a breakup, and my gym closed. Signed up for another gym but wasn't mentally there and stopped working out altogether for 2 years. Blew up to 280 lbs and even though it was a decade and a half ago, it was the oldest I ever felt in my life.
So, the answer is your lifestyle choices and the good news is that if you're still alive, you can improve. Everything in life is a choice.

The only thing is a party night can end up with a 2 day recovery period. So take it easy, brahs.

Lebron James is still doing crazy chit at age 39.
It's all about how much activity you do. I was just in California for a week, and was going daily hikes to the top of this mountain. It was like a 5 mile hike that I was doing, and each day was the equivalent of going up about 50 flights of stairs.
If I did that 5x per week foe the rest of my life, I'm quite confident that I'd still be in fantastic shape until my 60s. It's all about having no weak links in your legs and posterior chain. There were plenty of guys in their 50s and 60s biking up that same trail, and I'm sure thost guys have zero life limitations.

Spent about 5 months getting back into great shape, and now I'm back to feeling like I'm 30 again and it's amazing.

Keep moving, keep stretching, keep living. Be with people who love you and love them back.
Recovery is slower, there are more aches and pains... you push past it, drink coffee, and f'kn full send it.

I dont understand why guys seem to think their 30's will be that great. They are actually the toughest decade by far. You are working thanklessly, probably in the middle of a miserable marriage, have a house, kids, bills stacking up and no end in sight.
If you workout at all you are doing far better than most guys. 30's is like the awkward teen years of adulthood.
Your 40's will be vastly better as they kids are now grown for the most part so you can start focussing more on yourself. Body wise like aches and pains there is no difference.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

40s were fine but 50s ugh:
- Back pain/scoliosis
- Degeneratie neck
Now when I don't exercise I'm fine. I've had pneumonia and then Covid so those aches and pains went away.
But the neck and back are from years of tennis, plus lifting 6x a week in my 40s.

I had a slight torn meniscus with Infrapatellar tendonitis in my left knee from step aerobics in my early 20's. It got better with PT and a cortisone injection but would act up and be achy at times over the years especially when cold/wet outside. Other than that there was no difference physically between 20's, 30's, and most of 40's.
Mid 40's I tore my rotator cuff and had surgery. No other physical problems.
Last Jan I fell and smashed my left knee on concrete steps while walking my dog. Pretty sure that is the cause of the meniscus tear that I've been dealing with since then and I just had surgery for last month.
So 2 major injuries with surgery. Other than that I feel great for 54, no meds and very active and healthy.
If you live a healthy lifestyle, are active and stay active you shouldn't have too many problems as you age.
