Alright boyo I got 405x4 yesterday

Doing DB lunges too to build core quad strength. But still feels like my lower back is what’s holding me back
Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 205x5
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

It could be your lower back is the limiting factor. Heavier squats feel like more back than legs to me.

Working on weighted single leg squats, trying some pauses too:

Really feel this in the glutes

Gonna have to hold a 100lb DB pretty soon

Lost my balance in this vid and had to jump off

My calves are looking joocy

Form looked solid to me. Towards the end your knees shoot back a bit out of the hole. Could be your quads are failing and glutes and back take over. That's what happens to me.

That's a fukkin brootal movement. Mirin. I've been wanting to add some pistol squats in my routine.

My squat form is fuked up due to muscle imbalances and abnormalities and stuff that I cannot correct so I am trying some unilateral stuff like this.

When I started doing these I couldnt even do 1 rep with bodyweight, I couldn’t even lower myself in a controlled manner eccentrically. I felt no drive or power in my legs, so frickin weird as I had been doing uphill sprints, weighted uphill jogging, barbell squats, DB Snatches, leg press, etc

Movement patterns are a weird thing. If you don’t train a certain pattern you just don’t have the strengths

Would recommend that everyone incorporate some kind of unlateral work into their routine

Obvi I am not an expert but these feel very satisfying and no stress in back

That's pretty impressive. I've never tried actually loading single leg squats the way you're doing them. I do bulgarian split squats in my routine right now but those are obviously quite a bit easier.

I’m sure you’re getting the same thing from Bulgarian split squats TBH

These have a minor balance component

It’s fun holding a wieght

Just occurred to me that you could hold a loaded EZ curl bar

With the holding of the weight it incorporates the upper body a little bit

It’s just something different

I'm gonna try it sometime. I can do pistol squats pretty easily with my weightlifting shoes. I just did a few. It'd be cool to see how it compares to an actual squat.

SSB Squats are an absolute blessing.

Can squat without pain in shoulders and elbows, and it has massive carryover to back squats.

Aren't you like 17? Why do you have pain in your shoulders and elbows?

Damn son. I've had slight elbow pain when low bar squatting but it was alleviated by just widening my grip a little. Never had any issues at all doing high bar. With that said I did enjoy the ssb squat when I had access to one.

Yeah widening the grip a lot helped initially but after a while my elbows and shoulders started to complain, so I started doing SSB and never looked back since

It does feel pretty good. I'd probably use it most of the time if my gym had one.

No real timeline maybe until the end of feb next year. I figured the easiest way to score would just be weight lifted - bodyweight. There's no prizes or anything so it doesn't really matter who wins lol.

I don't know it felt really easy. I should have gone heavier after that.

1x5 and 2x4, was hungover and famished AF. I'll get it for more next week

Once I can get it for 10 I'll move on to 365 (double BW) for reps. Then I'll probably start bulking a little. Still a lot of time left to hit 500

Big legs are def gay but people that act like you're gonna accidently get big legs sound stupid. It's like those sloots that think they are gonna be jacked if they lift a few dumbells

It makes a huge difference, you'd have 600 if you weren't such a boozer (srs).
