They can do whatever they want. As long as China and India keep doubling down on coal it's not going to make a bit of difference.

It's also pretty ghey to mandate consumer vehicles be EVs. One delivery truck (UPS, Federal Express) that's EV is equivalent to at least 20 consumer vehicles being EVs. Similar for a city bus. A big haul truck is equivalent to something like 45 consumer vehicles being EV. If the govt is so confident in EVs, mandate those trucks and buses be EV, let consumers do what they wish. Besides, when you include all of the mining an EV has more CO2 footprint than a gasoline equivalent vehicle until about 100,000 miles of driving. And unfortunately EVs are less reliable so far. Nudging people toward EVs, fine. Govt mandates? Eat a bag of dicks.

LOL...liberals will not be in power past 2025. Ill be keeping all 4 of my gas power vehicles.
Serious though, it wont happen.
I was just watching a report of a poor kid in Vancouver. Bought a Hyundai Ionic, thought he may have hit something and took it to Hyundai to get it checked out. There was a couple scratches on the battery protective cover. Bill to fix....$61,000..the car new...$55,000.
So he took it to insurance and they wrote the brand new car off. There def was no damage from the battery and now he is out the car and his insurance has doubled for the next 10 years.

There is a big difference between people choosing to drive the automobile over the horse and buggy because it is so much better vs being told that as of this date you must drive a automobile. Last I checked 2035 is not a few decades. Citycels also have zero idea what rural life is all about and are basically living in a bubble of ignorance.

Liberals and NDP's need to stop with these 10 year plans to go green. Not realistic and horrible for our economy.
30+ year plans, sure - so long as it goes hand-in-hand with the aforementioned coal being used in Asia being phased out as well.

Our minister of the environment is the biggest butt plug ever with such a punchable face. And it's funny they think this will even happen given auto manufactures are already cutting back on building EV's since they aren't selling as well as originally thought since they are so damn expensive for the average consumer. I swear our Liberal government has no clue how bad they've destroyed the middle class and economy in the short 8 years they've been in power. They are going full retard to try and win voters back since they are polling so low now.

Trudeau will be long gone before 2026, much less 2035.
They are so far behind in the polls it's actually comical to watch which new strategy they try each week:
Last week was Pierre and his supporters are MAGA.
This week it's we are going all-in on EV.
Eventually they will float the idea of UBI and the woke plebs will probably cheer for it.

Biden and California's governor Newsom have decreed the same for here in America. In a few years only EV's can be sold. I don't believe many Americans will like that due to the higher costs of EVs, reliability problems, and long charging times.

You’d think people would be hesitant to purchase an EV knowing that the replacement battery exceeds the value of the car .
Consumers are going to be in for a real rude awakening when the cost of electricity skyrockets in order to upgrade the infrastructure to support the increased demand .
All this push for EV’s will do is make the middle class even poorer , nothing more .

canada is a pure cuck nation, and the true definition of an illusionary 2-option for politics:the libtards and cuckservatives are just different sides of the same coin to give you the sense of choice.
the libtards will sell you and the country out under the guise of doing it for social or environmental issues + the cuckservatives will sell you and the country out under the guise of doing it for your rights, freedoms, and undoing libtard policies/insert any anti-libtard trope like wokeism, or $1 beer =idiots will vote accordingly and think they've picked the right choice
reality is that any way you cut it, you're fuked.
brb canada can't even provide fuking affordable mobile plans because "costs are too high to have infrastructure outside the 3 major cities!**
brb "we want to make the entire nation EV ready
can't even fuking provide the basics at an affordable rate when you have third world countries with cheaper mobile plans. literal war-torn nations have cheaper phone plans/rates than Canada...LITERALLY. NO EXAGGERATION OR HYPERBOLE
***i remember when Canadian cuckservatives stopped t-mobile or verizon from going up to Canada because they said it was going to destroy competition and make things more expensive. lol cuckservatives protecting their cell-phone carrier buddies just like libtards do for their buddies
it's all a joke up there.

sorry Jack, no bueno
with the constant set of inflation. nobody can afford to just drop 50g's on an EV
some people are happy driving around in a 2k ch*tbox. because guess what, they don't have to worry about it. it serves a purpose.
only autists with no real life problems care about flexing their new EV and "care" (virtue signalling) about saving the world
