The term liveable wage is bull ****.

If your job doesnt make enough top get a place. get a room mate. get a side or even, god forbid, spend less on starbucks, new cars and painting your nails.

thats what people have done throughout the entirety of history up until last year.

When times are tough you dont sit around whining about it expecting someone else to fix it, you do what you need to do to get by.

In an area where a 1/1 apartment outside of city center is $1500/mo... I'd say $22/hr ($3500/mo if full time). Should allow for them to live alone, pay the bills, and have a bit extra for savings/investing/debts.

He should pay people as little as possible. When he can't get good people to show up every day he needs to up the wages a small amount until they do.

Unskilled labor does not deserve $15/hr.

Once you set that price floor that high for the lowest skilled workers you're just going to raise everyone elses salary up to compensate. No one is going to shovel ditches or pour concrete for $15/hr if they can make the same money be8ng a useless short order cook that does next to nothing all day.

the debate is that at one time, a minimum wage job in American WAS enough to do those things. Hell it was enough to pay for an entire year of college. I know this because my former boss would joke about working at Dominoes Pizza and mowed lawns over the summer and that was enough to pay for an entire years worth of college (not semester, YEAR) in the early 70's.

And you're an idiot communist who doesn't understand not every job deserves a living wage. There's a reason fast food workers are usually teens living with their parents. It's an easy no-skill job.

Raising the minimum wage for all workers just means inflation is going up for everyone. The idiots who can barely tie their shoelaces still won't be able to afford a house.

So you want more people to lose their jobs, for the price of McDonald's slop to go up in price, and for hrs to be reduced?

Inflation is a made up concept designed by the 2% so they can scam people on loans and the cost of goods.

Its not made up. It's a measure of the change in the value of money. If they print more money to give imbeciles 15$ an hour all they are doing is devaluing the dollar bill making everything cost more.

No one is coming out ahead dumbass. The value of goods and services won't change. Everything will just go up proportionally.

IDK, maybe burgers should cost $15-$20 each. It would certainly take a load off of the healthcare system if fatasses that rely of fast food everyday decide to cook their own food from time to time. Fast food should be a once or twice per month "treat" not breakfast lunch and dinner.

It’s not about McDonald’s.. it’s about corporate greed. Everyone’s like you can’t pay people living wages cause the cost of goods will increase. Here’s an idea.. instead of a large business netting 2.3 billion after expenses I think they can live off of 1.3 Billion. The elites don’t need 8 and 9 figure bank accounts they’ll never spend while Joe can’t rent a studio apartment.

-take in millions of low iq, unskilled, uneducated non white immigrants per year. This is a huge portion of our country now - we are taking in the population size of Atlanta PER MONTH
-expect wages to go up

logic not even once

sorry **** it doesn't work like that. The only thing you can count on is worse service, rolling blackouts, planes falling out of the sky and your grandkids are going to be living in a big favela selling cockroaches to each other whilst getting stabbed in the neck by diversity

First of all printing money isn’t how it’s created. Loans are.. and do you honestly think fractional reserve lending is a fair and honest practice? The whole system is a scam designed to scam people.

Yes. Economy is already done for. Let's fix what's actually broken. Pressure all companies to pay more to their employees, with the goal of median wages actually matching or exceeding inflation rates. Let businesses that fail to do this die out. Let under the table income workers get priced out of their CoL and deported/leave.

Going by your own math, just one full time employee going from $15 to $21.80 would cost an extra $14,145 per year. Giving all 15 employees that same raise would cost an edditional 212K per year.

PS, I know you dont realize this, but employees cost employers much more than their actual wage.

When you think about adding a new employee to your payroll, determine what the actual financial cost of doing so means to your business. This includes the dollars and cents over and above the basic wage or salary you agree to pay. There’s a rule of thumb that the cost is typically 1.25 to 1.4 times the salary, depending on certain variables. So, if you pay someone a salary of $35,000, your actual costs likely will range from $43,750 to $49,000.

If you were hiring a new employee at $25 per hour, their total cost would likely be in the $31.25 to $35 per hour range.

I remember when I lived in a wealthy suburb of a larger city it was always kids in highschool preparing my food. Was always a pleasant experience seeing someone from the neighborhood working the cash register or a student handing me my food.

Nowadays it just feels so impersonal.. people from low income areas taking long commutes in the morning to get to the job and do all that, with no ties to the community they're working in.

Fast Food has existed since Ancient Times. I don't know it if counts, but I pretty much have Chipotle everyday.
