It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Seat belts injure millions of people every year, but we still require everyone use them because the possible outcome of a situation where you would need them is so incredibly bad.
That seems like analogous logic, but I don't know how the absolute risk of car wreck compares with serious covid illness. It's definitely out there and has claimed millions of lives...

The incidence of vaccine-related myocarditis in males aged 12 to 17 is about 22 to 36 per 100,000 after receiving a second vaccine dose
. In individuals aged 18-24, the incidence was 0.95 per 100,000
. To calculate the number of children who need to receive the vaccine to result in one case of myocarditis, we can use the incidence rate. For males aged 12 to 17, the number needed to vaccinate (NNV) is approximately 2,778 to 4,545 (1 divided by the incidence rate). These numbers provide an estimate of how many children need to be vaccinated to result in one case of myocarditis.
So to prevent a severe case of Covid, you’ve now given around 9-10 kids myocarditis. And that’s before you even get into the myriad of other possible side effects kids can suffer from after the injections.

If seatbelts work, why do we have airbags?
If the above all work, why do people still get hurt or killed in car accidents?

If they thought the risk was literally greater than reward they wouldn't give it. But they don't consider the risk to be how you described.
