Go and look at how many people in this thread are living with their parents to help them vs how many are mooching. It's like a 1:15 ratio.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

You have to pay for sex because of how coddled you were. You are useless and would be homeless if it weren't for your mother's pitty.
Awww, is your ego hurting there Fatty? I noticed first post in this thread that you were well into it, im living in your head rent free eh? Making stuff up now to try and feel better? You mentally ill poser hahaha. Transparent as phuck.

Correct, relationship with my parents is very good, as it is with my siblings. Im a trust fund baby, with a cushy job. Everyone lives close, so that kids are growing up around grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Christmas holidays and Thanksgiving is often 40-50 people now. Its terrible, who wants it right?

That god damn catholic and spanish culture strikes again. What a travesty. Everyone would have been much better off if they came from an abusive home where the kids left before they were adults and were so phucking atomized they thought it would be a good idea to the same thing to their kids when they hit 15.

Catholic and Orthodox Europeans, and Asians have it right with family. Americans are lonelier than ever because they forgot what matters.

Maybe your mother hates you because you look nothing like her and everytime she looks at you she is reminded of the choices she made. Better not to have kids anyway, you are only going to phuck them up with your pathology. I would tell you to get help, but they cant treat narcissism. You are a broken, evil phuck.

It would really help my Dad if I could move in with him because he could fall and now he's all alone.

The problem is the house is tiny - 1100 square feet, whereas my current house is twice the size so I barely hear or see ex-husband. Dad always has the TV blaring with sports or Fox News and he has multiple TVs on in multiple rooms.

Plus he'll do gross things like put smelly socks on the kitchen table and I get nauseous. I just can't live with that.

I finally got a housecleaner for him because their house was so disgusting as they never cleaned it for years.

So it would help to get away from husband but UGH. The disgusting part of the house is why I left.

My insane aunt told me, when she was talking to me, that I would have to have a heart to heart with him to be cleaner or else I can't move in.

Yeah that Kormo dude made an argument that he is still at home because the liberals are trying to take his family apart lmao

You really have 0 argument for living at home late 30s if you aren't taking care of atleast some bills and contributing to the household

Kormo isn't looking after his mother , his mother is looking after him. He supplies nothing

yes...i'm always amazed how so many americans have family living all over the country. like grandparents in pa, sister in fl, uncle in ca...parents in ga, cousins in tx and az. the way i grew up (southern) is family comes FIRST. you do everything in your power to stay within at least a few hours of family and preferably 30 minutes. you see your parents and grandparents several times a week. there's none of this "planning to see" family once or twice a year near holidays. if it's parents or grandparents you don't even have to say you're coming...you just walk in the door anytime day or night, kick back and see what's to eat in the kitchen

How the hell can a woman look at a man as a provider, or masculine when they're living at home? Especially if they're 30 and older.

the way i grew up a man isn't looked at as solely a provider...the woman is expected to provide as much as she can too.

So someone might have dreams of living somewhere else, maybe another state, maybe another country, but they shouldn't, because of "family?"

Let me guess, people shouldn't join the military either, because it'll take you away from your mommy and daddy?

So that's your logic? People in third world countries, do it, so it's acceptable? What next, gonna justify arranged marriages as well?

Imagine if someone like Arnold had your mindset.

that's RIGHT. family comes above ALL (except Jesus Christ) my dad was in vietnam and wrote letters back and forth to home constantly. he said some of the italian dudes were the toughest you'd find and they were all about talking to and writing to family. there's NO place i could dream of living that could be good if my family wasn't there. just the way it is son.

They're not. They failed as men quite frankly. They will never have a decent women's full respect outside of being like a care giver for a badly disabled parent or something

this thread has just made me realise how warped and delusional American culture is and also to an extend British culture.

it's probably the only two cultures which promotes leaving home at 16 and never seeing your parents again LMAO.

It's not even an 'ethnic' thing...majority of Europeans share the same values. See Greece, Italian culture...family is everything.

LMAO not everyone comes from a broken family whereby you go to bed dreaming of moving out as soon as you're 18 while your dads slamming 40oz and shouting profanities at the rest of your family. Some people are actually raised with values and understanding of the importance of family.

It really is only subsections of North American and British culture that has a mentality like this.

Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, UAE all hold very similar values.
I appreciate well thought out subtle trolling.

I do understand this false machismo mentality some boomers that a kid should forge their own path once 18 but it really is quite an out dated mentality. The world is not like this anymore LOL... Daddy isn't going to war anymore so son has to travel across the country and work on the rail road or some dumb chit to create a better life or some chit. Whatever narrative you want to spin.

From an economic POV and just a human POV - Most cultures yearn for family togetherness and unity. It is the best way to grow and have fulfilment in life.

I've watched enough USA tv and film to understand just how dysfunctional the culture is. I really hope it does start to shift eventually.
I appreciate well thought out subtle trolling.

Please, I'm sure that a family in India, is doing just fine......

And why would someone suffer from depression, from simply moving out? It's something people were doing until recently.

I know that's exactly why I said you need to take care of them if they are disabled sick etc.

My parents are pushing 70 . And live 5 mins away. My parents still lead active lives . My moms at yoga every night and my dads still on the ice playing beer league couple nights per week

Knock on wood , if they ever need me to be a care taker I'd definitely would step to the plate.
