Credit card companies charging someone to apply then denying them......
Has got to be one of the biggest scams I can think of. How is something like that legal? Charging someone a standard fee to get a credit card alone is pretty messed up when it's in addition to all the other fees and interest that come with a credit card, but a million times even moreso when you don't even provide a credit card at all to the person. Yet credit card companies worth billions just do it all the time.

My ex-fatherinlaw never paid a bill in his life and his goal was to just stall off credit card companies until he died and he was successful at that. He died owing at least 17k on the one credit card bill I've seen, and yet credit card companies still regularly mail him (me) applications for new cards. It must be pretty hard to actually get denied credit in the USA.
