If in fact it's just some idiot jumping in the cage then I'd agree. I notice some other dude walking on the outside of the fence looking like he's trying to distract the Lion with something -- possibly food? Meanwhile the old man goes in maybe to retrieve something hazardous to protect the lion? Who knows. Not enough data in video IMO to wish the dude death in order to save the Lion.

If that is the case, and they are pros who know what they are doing, they should have known to tranquilize the beast first. I don’t wish death upon the man at all, but you don’t underestimate a killing machine.
