Ninja reportedly makes $500,000 a month playing Fortnite
Mainly through the donations of fans. I was watching one video of his and someone donated $100 to him. Dudes making like $1,000 an hour at times.
Is $500,000/month real tea? They said he plays about 10 hours a day.

He makes that on subs alone, donations add an undisclosed amount of top of that, then add in his Youtube Revenue as well, he's also now a RedBull sponsored athlete as well as any other sponsorships he's worked out.
Prob well over a million a month.

Doubt it.
A lot of idiots will take a snippit in time, like 1000 an hour, and extrapolate to a monthly or yearly salary.

Paying money to watch someone play video games blows my mind. I've met younger kids who don't even play the video games they watch on YouTube.
Crazy as fuk.
It's the new media advertising opportunity. At this rate, might not be long before the total ad revenue passes the NFL.
Netflix needs to buy twitch or something.

ninja works his ass off via streaming insane amounts of hours and is in the top percentage of his craft. he's not the best fortnite player but he's the most marketable.. which sadly counts for everything in the US lul.
(this is coming from someone who knows plenty about sports + games as well)

Amazon already bought Twitch for $970M a few years ago. Gaming has done nothing but continue to blow up.

But do people not spend a ton of money to attend sporting events live? Do people not buy shyt like NFL Red Zone to watch football on Sundays?
Do people not buy merchandise of other athletes?

BRB, watching basketball
BRB, haven't even touched a physical basketball in 15 years. Lmao
I recognize how big this is going to get. The younger kids are like crackheads for these streamers, and I think it's only going to get bigger.
Edit: I'm an Amazon shareholder and glad to hear Bezos is exploiting the next generation lmaoooo.

Do you see the irony? I always find it comical how it is seemingly socially acceptable for an athlete to make millions because they are the best at doing something absurdly pointless (eg: kicking a ball, throwing a ball into a hoop, catching an egg-shaped ball, etc) but what, its ridiculous that someone who is the best (or most marketable) at a video game be just as financially profitable? Its the exact same thing kiddo: someone who is very good at something that is deemed entertaining is paid because that individual generates revenue: whether that be by selling ads, or selling tickets or merchandise.

Not hating on the streamers, if you can make that money good for them.
I don't understand people who donate money to them or watch youtube videos of other people playing a game though. How is that entertaining?

I don't know how you can get entertainment out of watching Ninja if you don't play Fortnite. Or how you could appreciate watching say LeBron if you never watch basketball in your life.
