children have a higher hospitalization rate for the seasonal flu than they do for covid per CDC published data.

imagine being told the army is coming to the school to test your child for the flu and you cant tell them no. does that seem reasonable?

all I got from that is they are going to be testing kids and staff for covid at schools but parents still have the option to decline it if they don't want their kid tested. so what is the problem?

All over the UK, as far as I can tell it's only in Liverpool.

They have already introduced mass testing using the military in Liverpool, but it's voluntary at this stage. They are rolling out military COVID testing in other places in the UK now too, at this stage it's still voluntary.

Not long before they start doing the testing in other schools though.

Normalizing the military handling the COVID response. Getting kids, parents, and the public used to submitting to the military and procedures.

Conspiracy theorists have been warning about this for months, and we were called nuts.

also lol at UK's week long lockdown. If you can give a weeks notice for the lockdown to start, then maybe it isnt the emergency that they are portraying it as. This is just an arbitrary restriction on basic rights from the executive branch.

I don't know how it works were you live, but parental permission being required is the default here in the UK. However, in this case parental permission being required is not the default, the default is that they do not need parental permission like it clearly says in the letter. Is the default where you live that the state can order testing for diseases on asymptomatic children, and not require your permission?

You see nothing wrong with the inversion of parentel permission being required, and the normalization of military personnel testing children?

Coronavirus testing is just mass DNA collection. Their 23andme technique of obtaining samples (most famously promoted by FBI in golden state killer arrest) was not successful enough to get everyone. If you have any family members who have had coronaviris test or ancestry dna samples done... you're all on the database.
