Driving a manual increases your level of focus and attention and reduces the risk of accident due to absentmindedness.
Driving automatic increases mechanical wear.
So beyond being more fun, it's safer and cheaper.

Manuals are simpler having less moving parts and should be more reliable over the life of a car

Keeps you more focused on driving and the road.
Even a cheap box is fun to drive with a manual. I drive a 2008 WV sedan.
FEELS more connected to the engine. When I drive auto I feel like I'm in a bus.
Only downside for me is uphill traffic. Holy **** uphill traffic can be scary. When I get a new car hill assist is a must!

I always heard it was advantageous to drive a manual where there's lots of snow and that you might be able to get unstuck easier with a manual. I have no evidence for this, though. Only hearsay at this point.

*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*
