3 Studies Conclude That Women Are Better Investors. (Red Pill Theory Holes.)

I've been looking into crypto and stocks investments for a while, and something I've noticed anecdotally is that women tend to invest for downside risk, men to invest for upside risk. Meaning what I've seen is women are far more conservative than men when it comes to their investment strategy, and make more long term. Men take significantly more chances (Warren Buffet and Jim Rogers types are rare) and end up making more short or medium term gains.

"Donnelly cites a 2017 Fidelity Investments study that concluded women earn higher returns than men when investing — to the tune of 40 basis points, or 0.4% — and that women save more. Over time, these small differences add up, notes Fidelity.

Of the findings, Donnelly says, "[The study] basically tied to trading less, saving more and willing to learn — I think that fits me to a T."

A separate study in the U.K. found that men outperform the country's benchmark FTSE 100 (^FTSE) index by 0.14%, but women tend to beat it by 1.94% — a difference of 1.8 percentage points. Warwick Business School conducted the study with the assistance of Barclays and found that men trade more often than women — 13 times per year versus nine times over the same period.

The Warwick study also found men are more likely to take profits on winning trades while holding onto the losers — concluding that female investors tend to avoid "lottery style" speculation.

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/wh...205931074.html

"If you have ever watched a bad movie to the end, you are having trouble letting go of a loss. If you have ever bought a lottery ticket, you have been attracted to big wins, but wins that are very unlikely.

"Men are just a little more likely to be drawn to more speculative stocks whereas women are more likely to focus on shares that already have a good track record.

"Women also take a more long-term perspective, trading less frequently. This possibly means women are investing more to support their financial goals, whereas men are attracted to what they see as the thrill of investing."

One thing I've always disagreed with the Red Pill community is their insistence that women are inherently irrational and unpragmatic. I think the examples/behaviour a lot of men base that conclusion on is women that have not learned accountability. Which is likely a result of culture, not genetics (women are rarely taught self-accountability, even in patriarchal cultures like Islam. In patriarchal cultures they are taught obedience, and in the west they are taught self-indulgence - neither culture teaches self-accountability to women).

Men who have not learned accountability and impulse control for example are the low level career criminal who is in and out of prison their whole life. Anyone who has ever known people like that know that they frequently make choices against their own self interest and long term well being, which is what Red Pillers say women inherently do and is why 'Islam was right about women'.

Disagree?

Fight me.

Women are better at everything than men and here are the studies to prove it.

No thanks Karen I'll just use my own eyes.

What percentage of investors are women?

Who's out there employing women based on their ability to invest versus men?

How about we follow the money instead of chasing good feelings?

Because good feelings don't pay the bills, and the fact is the money is largely on the men.

I think it's fairly well established in the social sciences that the "average" women will be more competent with simple tasks, better academic performance, higher IQ, lower impulsivity, better time preference, less criminal, greater savings, etc. than the "average" man, whereas the top 10% of men will blow away the top 10% of women.

Hiring is subjective. Also, more men are interested in trading and investing than women, like the studies and reports also talked about.
How about we follow the money instead of chasing good feelings?
That's exactly what they did. They based it on cold numbers.

Ironically, you seem to be the one chasing good feelings and ignoring facts.

It's really ironic that red pillers/the misc state that women are overly emotional, and you and MBisonson post with nothing but emotion and ignore cold numbers.

I've seen you around ****inator, you only quote stats/studies when they conform to your views on race. These studies go against your view on women so you ignore them?

And again, if women were such great investors why are men getting almost all of the jobs?

Do you think their bosses give a flying **** what gender person is if they're making them crazy returns on their investments?

You have 3 studies versus the rest of reality, good luck.

How's that for "ignoring numbers"?

women are better suited for long term investments. long term merely requires solid growth with low risk literally just dumping money into S&P500 and forgetting about it. Men will chase bigger gains and actively manage there stocks more. ironically literally doing nothing wins 99% of the time. Through what would normally be incompetence women achieve much better results.

The takeaway? invest lazily - use a set and forget with maybe a yearly adjustment. rarely worth the time to spazz out about investing.

Again, I've already told you.... More men than women are investors and traders. Also, (like they show in the articles) women tend to have less confidence in their ability to be good investors. It's seen as a masculine field.
Do you think their bosses give a flying **** what gender person is if they're making them crazy returns on their investments?
Stereotyping and prejudice exists. I know that the misc pretends it doesn't but it does.

Take you for example, you are stubbornly holding on to your view of men being better investors of women, and ignoring cold numbers. So if you were hiring, you would literally believe in your mind that women are worst, and so would take them less seriously - even if the cold numbers were in your face.
You have 3 studies versus the rest of reality, good luck.

How's that for "ignoring numbers"?
You just did.

I agree with all of you guys.

Warren Buffet and Jim Rogers are considered legendary investors, and they invest long term like women tend to. Time in the market > Timing the market.

LMFAO at ignoring the overwhelming evidence contrary to your beliefs and LMFAO at not understanding how averages work on top of that.

This has nothing to do with me being stubborn and everything with me thinking logically.

You should try it out some time, you might like it.

IMO, this is akin to saying women are better drivers. I’m fairly certain that studies have shown that women - statistically speaking - get into less accidents hence why they have lower insurance premiums. This also reflects how women are more risk averse.

But what we really mean here is that women aresaferdrivers.

So I think the thread title is misleading to an extent, in that it would probably be more honest to have titled it as “women are safer investors”.

‘Better’ is open to interpretation and i’d wager that most people reading the thread interpret better as ‘more skilled’ or ‘talented’.

In short, it’s my guess that in the investment game erring on the side of safety leads to greater gains, especially over the long-term, thus i’m not entirely surprised women do ‘better’.

My .02 cents.

Now when we get out of that average realm, men do blow women out of the water.
Great summary.

Like you said, the top percentile are likely men. On average women are better.

The whole 3 studies are about that?

Versus men's track record of successful investing?

I don't need personal experience of confirmation bias to know that investing is an overwhelmingly male dominated discipline because the bottom line is money, not feeling.

Your three studies may as well be printed onto a roll of toilet paper.

Other factors to consider: Traditionally finance has been a field for men, and many men (like you) simply refuse to believe that women can be better at men at it. 2nd wave feminism in the 60s and 70s was women began to demand access to traditionally male white collar professions.

Also, women tend to lack confidence in their ability.

That's called anecdotal evidence.
Can women be better at things than men? Absolutely.

Unfortunately we live in reality.

Women CAN also be better than men at basketball, they're not but they CAN potentially be.

Maybe your studies prove women are better investors, maybe there aren't enough women investors to drag their averages down.

Neither of us know, but there's reality and that's what I'm here talking about.

Female bellcurve is flatter (edit: I mean taller), what's the point of this stupid study confirming what we already know?

Men have a higher standard deviation, women tend to conformity and low risk.

You can see a few people do not believe that ITT.

I’m a better investor than my husband

He’ll throw investment money at useless side businesses like growing wheat grass

I do real estate and things like annuities

Really though we both don’t touch stocks, :/ I’m to lazy to do research and have too much anxiety

Neither of us know, but there's reality and that's what I'm here talking about.
The following quoted has been found to be true in other areas outside of investing...

So I think it's likely to be true in investing.

Cliffs:

- Men are more likely to be compulsive gamblers than women
- This tends not to pay off when it comes to stonks and day trading

Additional Cliffs:

- MBisonson is a low IQ screeching ******* all up in his feelings, angry his 35K a year heat treat furnace operator job doesn't allow him the disposable income to invest. Lol @ talking about how men are superior to women as if this is an accomplishment that applies to him. He doesn't even earn more than 90% of women, have test above 50% of women, not taller than 50% of women and certainly has felt less pussy than 100% of women. I guess it's true the closer your height is to the ground, the more insecure and more prone to anger and cope you are. Just fukn lol boyo.

I've read financial investors with higher test levels earn on average over 5x more than those with low T (measured by ring index digit ratio)

so prob much more speculative. either hit it big or lose a lot of money essentially

my buddy for instance has already made 112k this year just day trading on the side, but hes only doing options or highly speculative stuff like dogecoin

It pays off when you actually know what your doing. So if your a financial advisor and trade off technicals and fundamentals with the assistances of algos you will most likely out earn women significantly; hence why most hedge funds and large intuitional funds are run by men (overwhelming large majority)

but if you take the average joe who doesnt really know what hes doing and wants get rich quick it wont work out well

ITT: Miscers are triggered and use anecdotal evidence to combat empirical data.

Men generally take more risks than women. So it makes sense that while a few men will become rich the average woman will make a more steady reliable return

No, the bad female investors just never invest? They are too scared to lose so they spend their money on purses and clothing instead. Those that do invest are far more likely to play it safer than men. The ones that do play it risky likely perform the same as men, or slightly worse given biological IQ differences due to men’s bellcurve being flatter.

On the other hand, bad male investors will cope and justify how they can make it back somehow. Their egos are too big to admit they suck and they’re stupid, so they bring the male average down and then you get retarded articles which imply females are more intelligent since they invest better.
