Anyone else always use self checkouts at the shop?

Srs. When I go into Tesco, Asda, Morrisons etc I always use the self checkout whenever possible as it's so much less hassle and don't have to deal with anyone.

Feels alpha when I see a big queue of clueless ****g0ts and boomers for the regular till, I just push pass them to go to the self checkout, scan my items, pay contactless and gtfo while they're still in line for an extra 5 mins.

Feelsgoodman.

I use it almost exclusively. No sense standing in line for principal. Thats just a waste.

This is my general thought process as well. Unless it's a clueless awkward zoomer, it's also nice to chat with the cashier for 30 seconds. I find the older ladies here are more chatty. I have noticed that the Walmarts here don't even have cashiers anymore, it's 100% self-checkout with 1 person standing around to help you out. Help my fuk I don't know the code for sweet potatoes.

I use self-checkouts at shops where the clerks don't bag my items. Literally what is the point if you don't do the bare minimum as a clerk? Might as well give the company a reason to get rid of you.

Never used one & never will. All they seem to do in my local Morrisons is shout error at people & the staff keep having to try to fix it, seen it at the Sainsbury's store as well.

The self checkouts are where all the low IQ morons who have never used a computer or credit card line up to get in your way. I swear it attracts the biggest idiots.

Pretty much. The main store I shop at does not have self checkouts unfortunately. The other two grocery stores I go to are a bit further away but they have self check out and it is what I prefer to use.

Depends on how much I have.

Self checkout has an item limit at most stores near me.

But if I have 15 items or less, yeah straight to self checkout.

I don't buy fresh from the supermarket. I use the butchers, the bakers and the fruit and veg shop in the village, then anything that I need the supermarket for gets delivered.

Supermarkets were always a pita, but when covid restrictions first came in they became a nightmare. Then I moved house and had good quality, independent, family owned shops closer than the supermarket.

I haven't set food inside a supermarket since before covid.

they started charging 10 cents per bag here, which i don't care about, but the checkoutcels always use too few thinking i give a fukk about another 10 cents in order to actually be able to carry the bag without it fkn breaking

takes way less time and i do a better job myself
