Title - getting up to those combine numbers! Though the lockout is a little soft for their standards.

135x50 is pretty good most lifters can barely do 5 good reps with it.

Damn I thought it was going to be a squat.

If you're this strong on bench what do you think about people that say flat bb bench isn't very good at growing your chest?

How long have you dedicated specifically to getting a strong bench?

I think it’s sophisticated - you can bench in a manner that targets the pecs pretty well. Watch how Jay Cutler benches for example.

But it doesn’t lend itself to strength, which most people are focusing on with bench. Hell I probably can’t hit 315 with an BB style bench form. Also, the rep ranges that are best for strength are not best for growth.

So, if you’re benching to have a high bench, like most, yeah it’s not great for chest development. But it’s a great starter for a hypertrophy chest day.

I’ve been training my bench specifically for strength since I was 13 or 14.

I've reput it into my routine a few times in the past and always took it out months later. I swear every time I do it I have a wider shoulder span but my chest doesn't seem to grow from it. What advice would you give someone who dgaf about how strong they are and just wants bigger pecs?

Honestly I’d say stick to DB press, cable flies, and machines, hitting all the angles. If you don’t care at all about strength your energy is better spent elsewhere
