Op,

Lustig is a fraud and has been picked apart long ago by Alan Aragon. That being said sugar is a very bad idea. Unless you are using it in a very specific context, such as quick energy during athletic event etc.

Just remember. When they test you for diabetes or cancer they don’t give you olive oil, steak, or butter. They give you sugar. Why would that be…

For reference:
Sugar Blues is a book by William Dufty that was released in 1975 and has become a dietary classic. Dufty uses the narrative form to delve into the history of sugar and history of medicine. He mentions whistle blowers, such as Semmelweiss, to remind readers of the discontinuities in standard science. He also delves into the history of Cuba, history of slavery, history of tobacco and tobacco curing to present the sociology of sugar.

The status of sugar, as a product of refining, was compared to drugs:

Heroin is nothing but a chemical. They take the juice of the poppy and they refine it into opium and then they refine it to morphine and finally to heroin. Sugar is nothing but a chemical. They take the juice of the cane or the beet and then refine it to molasses and then they refine it to brown sugar and finally to strange white crystals. (page 22)
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson

Moderation, but sugar intake should be limited.

It's a carb source with no real benefit other than a slight boost in energy and calories.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.

Nothing wrong with it, just use it in moderation.

Pro tip- When getting advice aon anything to do with diet, just think back to what grandma would do.

She wouldnt allow children to eat a ton of sugar all day but she would give you a piece of candy once in a while. She had no agenda other than loving care for her family.

100% of scientists have some sort of an agenda and none of those agendas have anything to do with loving care, they care about money.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Love sugar. LOVE it.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Because they need to check whether your body is creating insulin, when they test your cholesterol they tell you not to eat for 12 hours.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Sugar that you eat =/= glucose you’re referring to in your body.

Also, your body runs beautifully on ketones. No hunger, no energy crashes etc.

Exactly. Cancer, diabetes and many other wonderful conditions love sugar and have tons of insulin receptors. 20x the normal cells.
