Man Convicted Of 1st Degree Murder For Shooting Burglars During Home Invasion

Self-defense is on its way out. It seems the stars have to align for your life to be warranted protection.

Imagine relaxing in your own home either alone or with your family and someone breaks in. You have to whip out the "do-i-have-the-right-to defend myself chart"

I'll admit he didn'tneedto execute them after they were incapacitated, but still, that situation could've been anything & it seems to only apply to the victims.
1) Man's house burglarized 12 times prior
2) Police of no help, so he waits in basement with gun
3) Shoots and kills 2 career thieves one after the other
4) 2 life sentences
As the old saying goes, rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

This is the dude who waited, while recording it via voice recorder and executed them. I think he said something creepy.

Should have stuck with the shots to the torso, waited a few minutes (5 hours), then called 911.

Agreed honestly. Should've also lawyered up. Not sure why he recorded it but heck the dudes old as hell and traumatized.

Did it wrong. Should have just kept blasting left them as they lay then called the police. Nothing wrong with sitting in that chair prepared. Lots wrong with recording it, putting the bodies in tarps, waiting a whole day to call the cops. Theres mental illness there, dangerous mental illness.

Right, he forced criminals into his home to defend himself. I'm sure even shooting someone as they're entering your window is 50/50. I also know you'd feel differently if your home was constantly entered by strangers with malicious intent. Anyone could say what he should have done. It's different being in that position. I agree he planned to kill them. But still. Dude lived in a society that failed him.

Dude was probably really paranoid after things went missing and people probably told him he was crazy. So he wanted some peace.

Didn't watch video, opinions strictly based on thread.....

Not sure how people know "he sat in a chair and waited." That should never have come out. Could have easily shot them in self defense and kept that to himself. The chair BS sounds like hunting in his own home. Also dumb on him to record it obviously. When there are 3 people in a home and 2 are dead, there is only 1 story.

I haven't watched the vid you posted yet, but I remember the original vid from a big thread years ago. You're allowed to use reasonable force. The dude was dead, the chick was injured and not a threat. a sane person would have then called the cops, but he decided to drag her off just to execute her while taunting her. There's certain things you aren't supposed to do when you live in a society.
