Matrix was ok. Sequels sucked big time. Always thought even the first one was pretty overrated.

Matrix was BIG when I finally watched it…apparently it was a flop when it was in theaters though

Eh, the dialogue was pretentious but the action / editing was like a corny music video. Very strange juxtaposition. First one was ok at best. Second was so boring I never got around to seeing the 3rd, save clips here and there. Newest one looks like garbage.

i remember watching it when it came out on video, probably around 2000. I never remember it being hyped or seeing it in the theaters. A lot of good movies were coming out around that time period. A lot all doing variations of the "what you see isnt real" or "everythign isnt what it seems" type theme. Fight club, american beauty, vanilla sky.... others i cant think of right now, all around the same era.

I remember years when the sequals coming out those they hyped a lot more, think i even saw the 3rd one maybe in theater, those were just more and more convoluted story lines and chit, not fresh like the first 1.

I actually think The Matrix is one of the best movies ever made. It blew me away when I first saw it. Maybe on a new watch it wouldn’t be as impressive.

The sequels were dog chit tho. I couldn’t even finish Reloaded srs.
