How often do you factory reset your phone?

I kinda want to reset mine but I'm too lazy to copy files over to PC.

I thought about it. My last upgrade was early 2019. Only thing is I'm not much of a phone guy like my younger years so I don't care for new mobile tech. I have a Google Pixel 3XL so I may get a Pixel Pro 8 or whatever if I do upgrade...

My Nokia has never been reset since new in April 2008.

One laptop I have is still running the same MS DOS - Windows 3.1that was installed in 1994

i want the phone to feel similar to when i first bought it. resetting clears all the additional files & chit i've done & tweaked in the past that i'm too lazy to manually get rid of. i have a bunch of media i've taken/downloaded but rather put in storage and free up my phone of space.

the point is to clear up everything you've done in the past for a fresh uncluttered slate. the phone is fine. just too much has been done on it and i don't have the time to manually rid myself of all the intricacies (random files, manuals, odd settings changes, etc), so it's always been best to transfer files to storage then format device.

tldr: phone isn't as snappy anymore cuz lazily maintained after 4 years and some change

Avoid the Pixel Pro 8. I have it and the chip for 5G sucks ass. It's the Samsung exynos modem and I can't use it because it's so unstable. I have been running on 4G LTE. Google was too cheap to use a qualcomm modem so they went with the exynos modem. They will finally have their in-house modem in 2025. My recommendation is avoid the Pixel Pro phone until then. Some have said to have your carrier do a network calibration or some chit like that for your phone. Dunno if that will help at all. Check out the subreddit for pixel phones. It's all there.

There is a setting, so everything doesn’t end up the exact same way that I’m forgetting, I’ll mention it when I think of it.

Mirin nokia. I'm a power user of my daily devices so I'm bound to have experimented with a lot throughout the years and eventually i become lazier at maintaining a growing mixed-bag device. For particular tech like a laptop that has specific protocols or old phones, equipment you wouldn't really have to do that since they're not your mainline anymore. Ah, I gotta find a better way to manage this area of my life lol.

The only files I have on there are music files that I downloaded to my PC and transferred there. The only apps I have are messaging apps (Whatsapp, ********), Imgur, Twitter, Yahoo fantasy, Youtube Vanced, VLC media player, Cloudstream, Spotify, and Blink (security camera app).
Ya when I have a new device I can keep it in check for a good couple months but eventually I'm installing nonsense after nonsense and not deleting unused things. It has been a while though so and I'm more serious about organizing. (so i say lol)

Will check the Reddit. Any phone recommendations?

iCloud is nice. Only thing is I wouldn't touch Apple phones with a 15ft pole. Always preferred the customizability of Android. Apple can be enticing.
