PlayStation Portal Appreciation Thread

God bless this device. I purchased this thing thinking it might be a fun way to flush a couple hundred bucks down the drain, but damn was I wrong. I spend 50-100 nights a year in hotels for work and although I will still absolutely prioritize getting work done and socializing while on the road so I can free up time to play games how they are meant to be played when I am home, on a huge TV in a living room, when I get a bit of free time on the road this thing is just great. I'd prefer an OLED screen but this thing is damn near perfect and let's me play more PlayStation, with full DualSense experience. I've also definitely gotten to more indie and puzzle games on my backlog as they seem perfect for the device. Thank you based Sony. Where can I go to suck off the diks of your corporate overlords?

Played some Geometric Sniper before bed while watching the game and played a little GoT waiting for the restaurant to open for breakfast. God bless the PlayStation Portal.

Read through this old thread by Boxcels and they would have been shocked if Sony sol one Unit, let alone still be selling out months later:

https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showt...33&pagenumber=

In a sea of retards TaskBlob really stepped up and stood out on this one. "Cell phone is the same thing", jlmfao, the struggles of being a Boxcel today.

What does your delusions have to do with the Steam Deck?

You know what's nice? Being able to use a handheld without being tethered down to wifi. Being able to play Playstation games as well as everything else lol.

I didn't know Steam deck could run PS5 games.

It's also clear you haven't had a portal in your hands.

Bruh, about 90% of Sony's games are on Steam by this point lol.

Can't say I have the slightest desire for Sony's poverty handheld.

Imagine this level of cope.

Sony's latest release, Ghost of Tsushima is about to release on PC, 4 years after it releases on PlayStation, and one year after Sony started giving the PS5 Director;s Cut for free. So for you the better option is waiting 4 years to play a game and paying $60 for it? JLoL

Well I've had it on PS4 since it launched and been able to play it on PS5 since I had one. Can't say that's a game I particularly care about playing on a handheld anyways, I'd much rather play something like Forza Horizon 4 and 5, which I got on my Steam Deck. If I suddenly feel the desire to have that game on the go one day I can just download it and enjoy it anywhere.

That and the directors cut wasn't free.

You connect to your PS4 remotely via Wi-Fi, don't see how that would be possible with it off, although I assume you can turn it on from rest mode.

Glad it's working out for you brah, I think largely once the initial launch hype died down the issue was ultimately the price when compared to other handhelds.

Hotel internet slamming last night.

If we ever get to a point where internet like this is standard everywhere a streaming device is really all one would ever need.

Ah, yes, the convinience of needing another device to provide your device with internet to be usable.

Excellent functionality

As if I don't already have my cell phone with me at all times? Hardly needing another device. Let's not be like JayCoal, you can be better, just admit your criticism was stupid.

And yes, it's called good forum etiquette not to post twice in a row.

If you can't play it without your phone to tether, then yes, by definition you need another device. You can jump thru hoops all you want about the wording, but factually you need your phone, another device, to use it at a hotel.

You can be better, and just admit it was a really poor design choice from Sony not to include a browser to get hotel/passworded wifi on a device that is only capable of streaming games.

It was one of the major criticisms by many review outlets, no need to pretend it's just me with this criticism.

Who doesn't have a cell phone? It's like making a big deal about needing a TV or monitor to use a PS or Xbox. Sorry, sub 70 IQ statement.

Lmao OK man. I guess every tech reviewer who mentioned this is just dumb and low IQ.

I understand you bought the product so you don't wanna say bad things about it. But this was a major issue brought up by almost every single tech reviewer who reviewed the product when it launched. You keep acting like it's just dumb old freeburn saying this, but it was a major talking point when the device launched, and not a good talking point either.

You are really having a true blind fanboy moment right now. You can try to deny it but you also just reposted a month+ old post just to bring this thread back by adding a 30 second portal commercial like the ai Fkn drone that you are.
