2025 RAM will have an availible 520HP V6

They call it the Hurricane High Output and it's a 3.0 litre twin turbo inline V6. The statndard output still has more HP than the 5.7 Hemi.

those dual turbo v6 engines are no joke

i had a 3.5L f150 eco boost for awhile

should of done more mods to it

You’re right it’s technically just an inline 6 not an inline V6, but you’re also getting way to literal with the nomenclature.

They are two completely different things. It's not like they are even close. Like a 90° L twin vs a parallel twin vs a boxer (180°). Completely different engine designs.

Thing thing that stands out about this design is its a twin turbo I6. Usually you only need 1 turbo since it's a single cylinder head design. Seems like incorporating 2 turbos into a simple single cylinder engine is a bit pointless. Why not just go with 1 bigger turbo? Two smaller turbos are more common in V6 because the two cylinders are so far apart. Seems like this design is overcomplicated for no logical reason.

Then again 2 turbos is two failure points. Maybe they want to make more money through their service department than the sales department.

I'm guessing.
They should have a mode, such as highway merging or sport mode, or button on the car the pre rev the turbos up to get it to speed so that when you need the turbos, which is at rare minute times, there won't be a lag. Kinda like pressing a button to draw the pin of a grenade and releasing it at the right time on Call of Dookie.

This should address the turbo lag problem for the turbo lames.

I used to clown on these twin turbo trucks until i drove an ecoboost f150. Even the 2.7 ecoboost feels just as strong as a 5.3 GM product. I was impressed.
That said, i wouldn't trade my modded duramax for one lmao.. but they're good for the everyday "Football dad" who tows nothing and has a truck just to appear masculine in his sub division.

no matter how much HP it puts out, can it handle the strain of constant work like an 8 can?
what's the torque? because that really determines how much it can do.
can you pull heavy loads without putting wear and tear on the 6 cylinder?

I'm guessing.
Probably more for emission compliance than performance. With 2 exhaust manifolds they can run 2 catalytic converters and have better smog control.

Which means with some aftermarket parts and a little tuning these things will be monsters. Sucks to have all that extra weight and restrictions but I'm sure big single turbo kits with a 6 into 1 header will be available pretty quickly.

Inline 6 is a torque monster. Perfect balance too. They put them in giant diesels for a reason.

Inline 6s were plentiful in farm trucks and jeeps all through the 70s and 80s.
