NYC Evictions Hit Highs Unseen In 4 Years - BLACKPILL RENT WARNING!!
https://patch.com/new-york/new-york-...ars-data-shows
"Evictions dried up amid the coronavirus pandemic's upheaval as officials enacted a statewide moratorium on legal lockouts against tenants.
The moratorium, which lasted from March 2020 to January 2022, provided protection for renters who lost jobs and income during the pandemic — and emboldened an existing movement of advocates who pushed for wider tenant protections.
Since the moratorium's end, evictions have crept upward, but still fell under pre-pandemic levels. Last year's roughly 12,000 legal lockouts were a far cry from the 17,000 seen in 2019, according to city data."
So, folks: you can no longer deny that evictions take place and are on the rise again.
Make sure you PAY your RENT on TIME to your LANDLORD. Then you won't get EVICTED.

mortgagecels:
make sure you pay your mortgage on time to your bank, or else you're evicted
lol @ thinking because you put 5% down on a home you're homeowner. no, you're a homerenter.
like putting an expense on a credit card at 7% interest and acting as if you own the thing.

I 100% agree that homeowners> rentcels.
However, 99% of miscers that try to act above rentcels are in fact mortgagecels, and not homeowners.
Owning something means that it is yours. Putting something on a loan means it is the banks'. Big difference.

On 'ownership' - lenders do not own houses. The house is effectively collateral for the loan, and as long as the payments are made, the loan agreement is satisfied.
And it is rentcels these days paying a rental amount that factors in the loan amount + interest.

But remember: renters are apparently the investment gurus who "invest the difference", and come out on top over landchads. I mean...lol.

For landlords who still have a mortgage, YOUR monthly rent payment goes to said bank to pay HIS mortgage.
It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

I saw something about programs in NYC that were to pay part of poor people's rents have been giving them the runaround. More "confusing forms" for people to fill out, rushed deadlines, more red tape in general, the programs simply not paying when they were supposed to, etc. I guess they'll move to surrounding suburban counties, or leave the state entirely?

And when those payments are made by a rentcel, it's difficult to see the long term negative for the landlord.

I can just see rotmaxxers now, loling because they hid money under their mattress, kept their account empty, and told the city it had to pay their rent for them.
