Had to walk out of the gym at 10am today (pics)

How the HECK are there so many people at the gym at 10 am on a WORKDAY? What the hell is going on? Every business plaza i passed by on the way to the gym was SLAMMED with cars in the parking lot. Do people not work anymore?

I walked into the gym and there wasn’t one bench open in the entire gym. I walked around for 10 minutes and nothing opened up.

These are pics of the BACK of the lot slammed

How do these people spend all day shopping, gyming, and driving around? When do they work?

10am the gym used to be empty a few years ago

I go to the gym at 1 or 2pm on my work from home days and it's boomers, military retiree gen Xers and an occasional group of teenagers.

Sucks because i usually time my gym time around when it’s likely to be most empty, now its pretty much slammed all day. Ive gone at 5 am, 6 am, 7am , 10 am

I'm on a road trip now already passed a few gyms and they all are full. Wal mart has like 500 cars in the lot. There has to be hundreds of thousands of people out here during the middle of the afternoon lol. I don't think at least half this country works anymore srs.

Not only that, but i go to the grocery store during the work day at times you’d EXPECT people to be at work, but i run into a BUSTLING grocery store with long lines and bumper to bumper traffic in the aisles. Unbelievable

If these people aren’t working how the hell can they afford spending money every day?

Correct^ and with flexible schedules (as long as you get work done) people have a slightly better play, work, life balance.

Yeah I noticed since covid towns aren't so quiet. I used to be able to go grocery shopping or go to the mall at 11 AM on my days off and the place was deserted. Now it's packed like fuk and the ghost town happens at 6 PM.

Before I took my current job I was warned about the awful traffic I would encounter. It's not bad at all. Moderate amount of cars on the road.

Half the town isn't working.

This

It's literally a contradiction for there to be this many people out shopping while also not being at work at the same time

Everything has lines too I can't even do anything because it takes an hour to get through the lines

7 AM feels like 5 PM nowadays. Every 24-hour fitness within my area is crowded. Hell, even Equinox and thats a pricier gym.

Yea I WFH and can make hours between 4am-11:30pm. And the gym is def busy all the time now. Fitness also immensely more popular than 10-15 years ago. Back in like 2014 I used to work second shift so I’d lift at like 11am and it would be like myself, a couple housewives, a student and a few cops/paramedics or others like that. Was great tbh but now no such luck

Edit: should mention it’s the same gym lol. I haven’t moved. So pretty good comparison as I lift at the same time now as I did back then.
