Just rejected an application for an Assistant PM for wokeness

Feels good

No way I'm bringing that crap into a construction atmosphere. Its already bad enough that half my applicants are women, and worse than that half the men aren't even qualified (fake it till you make it I guess).

90% of my work force are Latino's and this chick referred to them as Latinx. College is a disease.

Honestly I'd 100% toss a resume without thinking twice for using "Latinx" as well. Probably the most retarded woke term I've ever heard, and that's saying something.

As someone who's also in the Construction field, good job. But wokeness is already here.


What are you qualifications are you looking for? I'm looking for an APM role now, but I may be under qualified since I got rejected a few times. That or companies hiring internally.

I have an interview for a tier 3 project engineer coming, will settle for that.

They go get a degree in construction management and start as Project Engineer's, Estimators, or Assistant Project Managers. They don't do heavy lifting typically though I have seen a couple women who work in the field and pull their weight, and if they work hard they are definitely better than a lazy man.

Also in my experience women are easier to work with on the upper management level. Ironically more emotionally stable. Everything else seems to be about the same.

Project Engineer. Project coordinator. Office assistant. Architecture. Owner CM. Project manager. They can do all those things.

I'm constantly communicating with 2 female CMs and 1 Architect now. Then there's General Contractors that are women owned.

Trades is the one of the last safe space for men to be men, the last frontier.

We've rejected applicants for similar reasons, also for being too fat, smelling weird, etc.

Facts.

Doesn't belong (or matter) on a resume. Everyone wants to be around otehrs who do good work regardless of anything else. Those who do it make everyone else either 1) feel awkward af or 2) they use it as a "shield" to hide behind and do less work.

I saw an application from meta a while back specifically looking for a latinx person. You just know the Mexicans were seething as their internal rage clashed with their desire for multiple six figure compensation.

To apply to the job is implicit acceptance that they’re latinx. To not apply means giving up one of the best jobs on the market from a compensation perspective
