Baal and Yahweh are the same god, ie the one that christians, jews and muslims worship now. All the things Baal used to do are the same things that got wrapped up under the yahweh banner when jews codified their new religion 5000 years ago.

I think later christians might have made up a bad guy with that name? But originally it was just a word that meant "lord" or "owner" and was used to refer to an all powerful god who controlled the world. It was clearly another word for the generic god that jews, christians and muslims still worship under different names.
