Staff at Dollar General says phukk it quits mid shift shuts store down




MINERAL POINT, Wis. (WKOW) – The Dollar General convenience store in Mineral Point faced an unexpected closure over the weekend as all of its employees walked off their shifts and quit their positions.

Customers arriving at the store were met with signs taped to the front door reading ‘we quit’ on both Friday and Saturday. The exit came as all six employees, including the store manager and assistant manager, voiced their concerns of being underpaid, undervalued and overworked by the corporate structure. These photos were posted on the Iowa County Confessions ******** page:


"They need to do better by their employees, they need to do better by their customers and they need to do better for the communities they build their stores in," said Trina Tribolet, the former store manager.

Tribolet tells 27 News that she and the staff strongly disagreed with Dollar General’s donation policy, which required them to throw away items that were near the expiration date or that the store no longer sold. They felt the items should be donated to local charities to help the community rather than a landfill. As a result, staff would label items they were supposed to throw away as damaged and donate them to charity.

"These were items that weren’t on the donation list but were totally usable," stated Caitlin Margan, the former assistant manager. “I was always told when I was younger and in school to recycle.”

The strain of understaffing and excessive work hours also factored into the employees' decision to quit. However, it was Dollar General's directive to stop donating unlisted items that prompted the everyone to walkout.

Oh no had to close for a day, maybe two while they interview to find some other minimum wage workers in replacement. What will the dollar store do???

I like DG because it's quick and easy shopping when you only need a few items. Typically only one worker in the entire store though, if you can find them. They started putting self check-out registers in some of them. It might get to a point where you just self check-out and leave and they come by periodically just to restock shelves

I boycott stores if they are too warm or cold one time or Im forced to use a self check out.

Id definitely boycott this store after this news. They are definitely losing customers. Sure plenty of retard low income normies will still go, but the customer base definitely shrank after this event.

6 employees? Every Dollar General I've ever been to is basically a one man show and they're always a million miles away from the register when you go to pay for your stuff.

I worked for a retail company for 16 years, 12 years with no increase in pay then finally management for 4 years at a kiosk and at one point all my employee's were either on vacation or put in their 2 week notice.

I worked 20 days straight without a day off from 9a-830pm


It doesn't matter how bad they treat you, you made a commitment to the job and you agreed to the terms of compensation. If you don't like the job, leave on good terms with a 2 week notice. This is completely unacceptable and now creates a problem for upper management and loss of income for the company.


Not only they have to repent to God through The Lord Jesus Christ, but also ask for forgiveness, to upper management and all patrons affected by this act and go back to work immediately.



They all have to pay a share of restitution for any losses incurred to the company by their actions.



This also applies to our daily life in public, don't start arguments with people to the point of conflict, be at peace with all you come in contact with.

Love your enemies, Bless those that curse you, Do good to them that hate you, Pray for those who use you and persecute you.



This world would be a better place if only we listen to Christ's commandments 2000 years ago and do them.
