Not sure, maybe, but, people were asking me about Mercedes recently & so I simply told them how hard Vincent fell.

Mercedes was very loyal to the company & did not tolerate betrayal & neither would I, so hopefully with this change of guard she will one day return to WWE.

Still, AEW is another chapter & we'll see how that goes.

AEW does not have a talent problem, it has a management problem. You can give the finest ingredients in the world to a guy flipping burgers at McDonalds, that meal will end up trash. Meanwhile, you can give a fine chef modest ingredients and they will make something decent to great out of it.

Khan has shown time and time again he can not utilize talent and has surrounded himself with trash like the Young Bucks who actively ruin everything they touch, drove away the two biggest (or potentially biggest) stars they ever had all while being paid more than almost anyone else on the roster, if not the company itself.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Mkay, mkay. Ratings have been slumping, right? Over 800K usually but barely?

My guess: Tony does a big overrun to try and cheat, they come in above normal but around 850K with the usual big start, slump and fall offs. Since you put it right at 850k, which is probably about where it would be, were I a betting man I would say Under and not Over (which, either way it's 840K-860K range).

I don't think women in general have enough of a built-in fanbase to attract big numbers, even the 'modern' soy fans who like Women's wrestling, they're not going to be particularly loyal or hardcore to any woman outside of maybe Rhea Ripley. I wasn't paying much attention to WWE when Sasha was around but she didn't strike me as particularly good, talented or that interesting. She's got the right cousin and landed a decent role on a mid TV show, sure, but that isn't going to bring in 100,000 fans to watch her debut on some show non-wrestling fans are unaware of.

Well, once again Tony Khan chose not to advertise his big free agent signing, so probably not.

Tony Kahn fluffers have been recently saying ratings are outdated metrics following the Okada and Ospreay bombs. Therefore, this doesn’t matter one way or the other.

not gonna lie the ceo theme song is pretty catchy.

clearly leading up to her vs britt baker and the dueling ceo/dmd chants. why is this guy so easy to see through?

WWE was interested but didn’t want to pay her what Tony Khan was willing to pay.

Even I gave them more credit than this. What a joke of a company.

LOL at thinking Willow and Riho is a good idea for a main event and plummeting to 627k during it.

"i'd bet the over" are famous last words. whooooops.

three "big" signings of late and it's just not working. i can't believe how south AEW has gone since letting go of Punk. you could probably argue they were going to fall apart eventually anyway but the timing is brutal.

Lol at the piped in "CEO" chants, so fukking cringe.

Yeah wtf. Willow vs Riho with no story around it as your main event on the same show that featured Joe vs Wardlow for the title. Clearly done so Mercedes can pop in at the end but still. Big mistake on her part signing there, they don't know how to book their women at all. The only people that have any kind of storyline at the moment are Toni Storm and kind of the Outcasts. They gave Sky Blue like 5 title shots without earning most of them or any kind of story behind it, she lost all of them, and now she's just in limbo as Julia Hart's lackey.

In general not just with women TK needs to hire a dedicated booker and get the Young Cucks away from creative altogether.

Sasha could have spread eagled naked in the center of the ring if the network allowed it, and gave an exposed view of both holes for 10 minutes straight to allow folks to let their buddies know to tune in, and that still wouldn’t have cracked 900k

i think it's more damning that she gave that whole 'this is the place to go global" empowerment speech, dictated a Riho vs Willow main event, and the ratings tanked to 620k by that match

Evidently she's getting just under $5 MM a year:

Mone—known previously as Sasha Banks in WWE—was seeking “Becky Lynch-level money” while discussing a potential contract with WWE before ultimately opting to sign with AEW.

Though Mone’s deal apparently falls short of the rumored $5 million per year payday, Mone’s AEW contract could force WWE's hand."
https://www.forbes.com/sites/blakeoe...h=4e5ef4b120ab

I don't know how to justify that figure. Roman makes $5 MM lmao.
