Honestly unsure on this.. stellar blade and Rise of Ronin all look like possible purchases coming out at the same time too and i don't have time to play all 3
I see a lot of complaints about not being streamlined/knowing wtf to do
Which sounds like its something that would annoy me.. but then again i am sick and tired of the open world formula for pretty much every game of the last 10 years.. (Bunch of markers u run to to clear/pick up stuff).. so maybe that will be a good thing? Having said that ACT 3 from Baldurs gate was probably the "worse" (still fking good) for me because it kinda plopped you in and was like do what you want
Kinda looking forward to see someone like Asmongold malding the fk out over getting lost tbh

PCcels are pathetic. Don’t even play games. Just look at the PC discussion thread vs PS5 on this forum. PCcels make every post talking about their specs and post screenshots of the leafs in the game then talk about how big their backlog is and move the next game. Consolecel discussion threads actually talk about the game. Glad I don’t cry about FPS and can actually just play and enjoy games

Switched over to the PS5 thread and everyone was discussing games. It's almost as if console gamers don't want to deal with all the hassle of PC and instead just sit back and actually play games….aka be "real gamers".

I know literacy isn't your thing but if you go into a thread titled "pc specs/mods" and don't see people talking about games, but instead about pc parts… Well… Duh

PC has a broad variety of games that people play, and some people don't even play pc games, but still build pcs for work and other things.
We don't all huddle in 1 thread and talk about the 1 new release everyone is playing, we are all playing different games regularly. I don't wanna talk to some pccel about wow and no one wants to talk to me about apex. If a new game comes out, I'll go talk about it in the games thread, not the sticky about building and modding and pc specs.
You can go to page 1, visit all of the old pc threads, and notice the trend: it's about the actual pc, not as much about gaming.
I feel like I shouldn't have needed to explain that

It was always a thread about tinkering and building, you're grasping for straws wondering why no one's talking about individual games there.
The thread is pretty much dead now anyways so I'm not really sure why you expect to visit the current thread and see much discussion of any kind tbh.

In any case, they're all just boxes that can play games at the end of the day and I could never understand how people can bother to be console/platform warriors even when they're (ostensibly) grown adults who should know by now that companies never return the favor of loyalty.

Seriously though, this is why I don't trust them. Even when you set aside how incestuous that side of the industry, reviewers have such arbitrary, inconsistent standards that can flip based on anything from personal biases, fear of fan backlash, and of course a fear of biting down too hard on the hands that feed them.
Games (and most entertainment media) are highly subjective on their own, but some stuff like poor technical performance should be weighed a lot heavier when it can literally prevent you from enjoying whatever "experience" some glowing reviews will paint for big releases. Compare the lack of critical feedback for performance to instances like EA's lootbox debacle and how that at least developed to the point where they had to change to the ongoing apathy on display by developers/publishers when they're releasing games in rough states.

- The game uses ray-Tracing for global illumination on PC, PS5 and XSX. Xbox Series S does not have ray-tracing. This setting does not affect shadows and reflections.
- Ray-tracing cannot be disabled on PS5/XSX.
- Load times may be faster on PC if you have an NVMe SDD. PS5 has a slight advantage over Xbox Series, although anecdotal in this section.
- Xbox Series S renders at 1440p with temporal reconstruction, while PS5 and XSX render at 2160p. PS5 has a slightly higher average resolution than XSX.
- All 3 console versions have unlocked framerate. It is not possible to lock it at 30fps.

- Drawing distance is higher on PC, followed by PS5. Xbox S/X Series has some less shadow and vegetation detail in the distance.
- PS5 also has slightly more detailed shadows compared to XSX, especially in the distance.
- Xbox Series S/X shows slight banding on some surfaces (especially on some highly tessellated terrain).
- Reflections in all versions are SSR. Xbox Series S shows a slightly lower quality of reflections.

This is retarded.
Why lock in RTX and not make it optional? why limit user choice.
The only good thing is that this game seems to have released with pro versions in mind because of the unlocked framerates, so cleary some overhead for them when the pro versions hit and they prolly dont have to do much to optimize or provide any distinct modes … lazy?

That doesn't even make sense to force ray tracing on the PS5/XSX if they could disable it on the XSS, although the performance/optimization seems so wonky that even a 4090 only goes from 41fps to 47fps with RT disabled , so either they couldn't be arsed or it made no difference next to the CPU bottleneck.
Capcom's RE engine wasn't originally designed for open world, and Street Fighter's open world mode already showed it struggles with them despite that game looking like dogwater, so this is definitely a wait and see for me. I hope they can fix it, but as of now even better consoles wouldn't do much better if Capcom's main platform is also mediocre even with brute force level hardware.

Gameplay looks pretty boring to me. Just watching some youtube streams. Lots of fetching of flowers and stupid quests like that. Combat looks pretty simple. Looks like a generic version of a slow paced elder scrolls to me. Not a fast paced action rpg.
Too much bogging down with dumb run around time sink quests, not enough stellar 4D combat. Not any stellar combat. More like whack a mole.
Voice acting is pretty lame and repetitive with the dumb pawns too.
