Why lock in RTX and not make it optional? why limit user choice.

The only good thing is that this game seems to have released with pro versions in mind because of the unlocked framerates, so cleary some overhead for them when the pro versions hit and they prolly dont have to do much to optimize or provide any distinct modes … lazy?

Honestly unsure on this.. stellar blade and Rise of Ronin all look like possible purchases coming out at the same time too and i don't have time to play all 3

I see a lot of complaints about not being streamlined/knowing wtf to do

Which sounds like its something that would annoy me.. but then again i am sick and tired of the open world formula for pretty much every game of the last 10 years.. (Bunch of markers u run to to clear/pick up stuff).. so maybe that will be a good thing? Having said that ACT 3 from Baldurs gate was probably the "worse" (still fking good) for me because it kinda plopped you in and was like do what you want

Kinda looking forward to see someone like Asmongold malding the fk out over getting lost tbh

I still haven't finished BG3 due to how fuking wonky Act 3 was on console. Performance issues out the azz, and just way too much chit going on to even have a fuking indication of what to do or where to go. And I love open world games the most but I don't wanna have to talk to every single NPC to try to piece together where my objectives are. It's too much. Plus the story just kinda completely resets and it feels like you're beginning a totally new game lol.

Thankfully I really enjoyed Acts 1 and 2 though and i felt like I got a very complete experience from them.

Lmfao I'll admit I complain about 30fps, I think games on console should be 60 or at least 40hz balanced mode but I made this same post before when I was arguing with freeburner. He told me console owners weren't "real gamers" like PCcels were. I went to the PC thread and looked back like 10 pages….didnt see a single game mentioned. Everything was about specs, overclocking and CPU temps, troubleshooting, asking which parts is best for their build, posting pics of their towers showing off their LGBTQ+ rainbow lights etc etc.

Switched over to the PS5 thread and everyone was discussing games. It's almost as if console gamers don't want to deal with all the hassle of PC and instead just sit back and actually play games….aka be "real gamers".

PC has a broad variety of games that people play, and some people don't even play pc games, but still build pcs for work and other things.

We don't all huddle in 1 thread and talk about the 1 new release everyone is playing, we are all playing different games regularly. I don't wanna talk to some pccel about wow and no one wants to talk to me about apex. If a new game comes out, I'll go talk about it in the games thread, not the sticky about building and modding and pc specs.

What a long winded post just to end up with my very own conclusion… That pc hardware is more important to you guys than the actual games. If you guys were enjoying so many more games than console owners then there would be an even greater need for a games discussion thread. Yet it doesn't exist for obvious reasons.

And here I use a PC because I'm not a real gamer. Couldn't do 95% of the schit I do on a console, but the lack of all the troubleshooting, specs, ect. are why I can at least empathize why some prefer that if they're just playing games. That's where it's shame how there's no middle ground since even prebuilts can be complete overpriced, unstable rubbish.

In any case, they're all just boxes that can play games at the end of the day and I could never understand how people can bother to be console/platform warriors even when they're (ostensibly) grown adults who should know by now that companies never return the favor of loyalty.

Seriously though, this is why I don't trust them. Even when you set aside how incestuous that side of the industry, reviewers have such arbitrary, inconsistent standards that can flip based on anything from personal biases, fear of fan backlash, and of course a fear of biting down too hard on the hands that feed them.

Hard agree, man, with special attention to the bolded.

That doesn't even make sense to force ray tracing on the PS5/XSX if they could disable it on the XSS, although the performance/optimization seems so wonky that even a 4090 only goes from 41fps to 47fps with RT disabled , so either they couldn't be arsed or it made no difference next to the CPU bottleneck.

Capcom's RE engine wasn't originally designed for open world, and Street Fighter's open world mode already showed it struggles with them despite that game looking like dogwater, so this is definitely a wait and see for me. I hope they can fix it, but as of now even better consoles wouldn't do much better if Capcom's main platform is also mediocre even with brute force level hardware.

Gameplay looks pretty boring to me. Just watching some youtube streams. Lots of fetching of flowers and stupid quests like that. Combat looks pretty simple. Looks like a generic version of a slow paced elder scrolls to me. Not a fast paced action rpg.

Too much bogging down with dumb run around time sink quests, not enough stellar 4D combat. Not any stellar combat. More like whack a mole.

Voice acting is pretty lame and repetitive with the dumb pawns too.

this is my reaction too. The world and characters look generic and the combat looks slow and stiff. They say its the same guy who did Devil may cry but it doesnt look as fast or creative.
