Quit caffeine a few days ago after 11+ years of near daily consumption

Fuuuark yeah boyos

Stopped drinking and stopped caffeine. I was a heavy caffeine drinker especially with pre workouts / energy drinks. Sort of happened by accident but I hadn’t had it in a few days & noticed that I fell asleep within like 10 minutes of laying down. That’s as huge for me because sometimes I’d be up in bed for 3+ hours srs even if I had only had a little bit early in the morning.

I’m coming up on a week soon and the things I’ve noticed are

-Super deep sleep / falling asleep very fast. This makes me never want to touch it again
-No headaches, thought I was going to get these
-I feel anxious AF. Legit sort like a crazy person, moody and anxious is how I’d describe it. Very on edge kinda paranoid and easily angered. Not sure if this is the caffeine withdrawal or something else? You’d think stopping caffeine would make me less of this
-A little sleepy throughout the day but energy is steady. Still getting used to going without it but I feel once stable it’ll be good

Anyone else here ever quit caffeine? What did you notice?

Those get easier after the 1 week mark. Give it two weeks and see if they don't go away completely.

I relapse every now and then. Energy levels way higher, dreams insanely vivid. Memory has gotten a lot better, sleep a lot deeper.

I did it for 2 months before. My sleep wasn't noticeably better. My strength went down immediately, and I was tired all the time. The only benefit I noticed was that I was sweating less.

Pretty much this if your withdrawals don't cease after 2 weeks.

I will never use or consume caffeine again. Took me two weeks to get over withdrawals. It is an addictive drug that fuks your sleep up.

Caffeine is incredibly difficult to quit when you have to be productive. The initial week the headaches can be strong, time seems to go super slow and focus is sh!t. The longest I quit was for about 3 months, after the 2-3 week mark you're back to normal. Those inital couple of weeks, especially the first week is incredibly difficult to feel productive and enjoy tasks. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

I usually start my day with a strong coffee with breakfast - defs worth the sh*tting effect.

Although I agree, it's unnecessary.

Wish I could stop, I usually drink 2-3 Reigns every morning. I'm sure I'd sleep a lot better, but it would be a nightmare in the mornings.

OP, u were probably overcomsuming.

The best method is to consume caffeine in moderation.

I stick to 1 energy drink and 1 scoop of pre a day. On days I don't lift, the prewkout is replaced with a small cup of coffee, tea, or very occasionally another energy drink. And even then I usually drink half and throw out the rest.

Its actually pretty good still haven’t noticed a difference. Very happy I didn’t get headaches or anything like that

The biggest challenge is for my workout. It was legit an ingrained ritual for me to sit in my car blasting music while sipping on an energy drink/pre. One of my favorite parts of my day srs gone for now

I often wonder if I would be better off cutting caffeine out entirely. I don't consume it every day and don't feel tired when I skip it. Drinking coffee sometimes make me jittery. I try to avoid consuming any caffeine within 12 hours of sleep. With that approach it doesn't seem to worsen my sleep. When I do have caffeine I have a small amount by most people's standards.

I've been zero caffeine for a few years now, but never been a coffee drinker so it was easy.

Try some L-Theanine to calm you down and relax you a bit during this withdrawal period. You can also try some magnesium.

If you feel the urge to drink alcohol or coffee, try replacing it with carbonated water or non-caffeinated tea.

Zyzz era I would drink a large coffee pre workout and it got me all hyped up. Since starting IF and drinking black coffee on an empty stomach that hyped up feeling isnt there anymore.

Quit for 2 months in 2014 to get my tolerance down but still didnt get the rush from caffeine back. Been drinking 2-3 medium coffee a day since then.

Anyone reset their caffeine tolerance successfully? How did you do it?

Dude…you would legitimately be better off getting a prescription for ******** or Vivance at this point. That many energy drinks in the morning alone is going to give you a severe non-life-sustaining cardiac arrhythmia(not a matter of if but when).

Edit because: W..T.F AD_D_ERALL is censored but Vivance isn't?

Quit like 2 years ago. Went from 3-4 cans of diet soda every day and the occasional coffee to none.

Immediately made my sleep better and ended the random stomach aches and bloating. Craved it for a few weeks but now I don't even think about it.

Gratz boyo, keep it up if you feel it's the right thing for yourself SRS

Personally, I don't see the point for myself. Sure it's a drug technically but it's so weak and improves daily boring working life much more than any drawback IMO. Obviously overuse isn't good though
