My recent surgeon was a Chinese woman. She was perfectly fine and had great bedside manner. Surgery these days are more routine than they used to be and the potential mistakes are mitigated by the precise equipment we now have.

I honestly couldn't care less ehich one my surgeon was.

Fun fact - Everyone in that picture is smarter than anyone posting in this thread.

It's hard for me to tell if women are actually diversity hires in medicine. My sister got into a competitive program but she was no slouch.. extremely high GPA, high test scores, etc. She worked her ass off in school too.

Some of her friends though, failed the exams once or more times. Can't tell how they got in but they had good credentials as well.

I think it's simply that med school doesn't require as much intellectual capability as previously thought, and that's why more women/minorities are being admitted. It's the difference between someone with a 4.5GPA and 4.2. I don't think they let in 3.5s for example.

sloots are good at academia and passing exams

but there is a difference between studying and being able to work 60 hour weeks and hour long surgeries. that's where men come in
