I see casting-calls for commercials all the time here in San Diego. They pay pretty damn good. fast food commercials (Wendys/McDonalds/Dominoes) pay about $2k per commercial so i'd imagine drug companies would pay more since their market value is higher.

Sometimes the money is good, depends on the contract. Some pay that one time, flat fee of a few grand. Some stipulate that if it airs for more than a year, you get paid again. Or if they use stills from it for print ads also, more money, etc.

(I dated a few actual print models so I had to learn about the contracts to help them not get screwed over).
