I cant work in a fcking office open space
at first I was excited to come from working at home only cause I was bored working and living in the same space
but wtf I quickly realised why I was so thrilled to start working at home a few years back.
Why tf must every colleague`s meeting/call be taken at their fcking desk. It disturbs everyone around you. There are designated rooms for online meetings so that you do not disturb those around you.
I understand that sometimes you to share your screen from your desk but ffs 90% of times you do not need that at all.
**** drives me crazy

That’s the most soul draining thing a human can experience. Fluorescent lights beaming at you literally sucking your energy away. Having to walk on egg shells all day being politically correct. Celebrate people’s birthdays you don’t care about. Spend all day in meetings asking what you’re working on and not having time to work on the thing you’re supposed to work on because your having pointless meetings, and then being expected to and having to work on that thing at home.

Yeah I don't know how a man can get up everyday and endure such a pitiful existence. I would rather die than spend my life in an office doing fat women work all day.

It’s retarded AF.
When I first got hired at my last job we worked in an old dilapidated high rise building, but the setup was awesome. We were scattered between 14 floors, so we all had our own private offices and huge desks.
Halfway through my time there, the company announced that they acquired space in a modern downtown office tower. They spent a year renovating the place and when we finally moved, our private offices were replaced by these rows of “collaboration stations.”
Exactly like this:

The justification was that it’s just the industry standard nowadays and it’s supposed to promote team building.
Fuking bullchit.
We ended up working on top of each other, unable to focus due to loud conversations and everyone could see everything you were doing. No privacy. Just a shiny turd.
Fuk working in an office. There’s nothing more cucked a man can do srs.

So Sharon’s birthday is Friday and we’re going to chip in and get her something and meet up at Applebees. Also don’t forget that potluck coming up.

Here is the thing about it is those who design this stuff are people who don't work in that environment. The idea that the "open" environment "creates and environment where ideas can be openly bounced back and forth" but in reality it means people can look over your shoulder and be in your business while distracting you. For those of us with ADD it's a nightmare.
