A political party cannot hold any office for more than 2 consecutive terms without meeting objective metrics. This is retroactive upon passage of the law.
All citizens must demonstrate functional knowledge of any candidate and/or piece of legislation. They can only vote on matters where they have demonstrated this knowledge.
For the purposes of voting in local and state elections a citizen's residence shall be considered, for a period of 10 years or until the incumbent is removed from office, the place where they last participated in said elections IF they voted for said incumbent, even if they physically move. They cannot participate in other local and state elections until the aforementioned conditions have been satisified.

1) The budget each year must have a $1tn surplus until the national debt is eliminated. The requirement is waived if GDP growth was negative over the past year.
2) The House is selected not by election (which disproportionately favors the rich, powerful, connected, and good-on-TV), but by a random lottery of citizens age 35-65. They can decline the appointment if they choose, and serve 2 year terms. They are paid $100k/yr plus reasonable living expenses.
3) The internet is de-anonymized. Each person who posts on social media must have on their profile and by each post a recent (less than 1 year old) face and upper body picture taken in the style of a LinkedIn profile pic. In addition their profile must contain their full name and date of birth and the city they live in.

1) Anticorruption bill. Prevent government officials from trading stock. Ban "tipping" and "consulting" for government officials. Require US citizenship to be exclusive for government officials and employees. (This would solve many of our foreign policy issues, vis a vis Israel.)
2) Ban alcohol. With the massive spynet created today, prohibition could be executed successfully without empowering organized crime. Alcohol is the single most destructive factor in American society. It plays a major role in many crimes, birth defects, diseases, and car accidents. It fundamentally ruins peoples' judgment.
3) Restrict the guns and kill the drug lords. The drug problem in this country is out of control, and the government needs to take an extreme stance like that of Mao to curtail it. Firearms crimes and deaths are out of control as well. Going forward, the people cannot be trusted to own weapons. They should be largely restricted to military, police, and those willing to get a special license. Simply erecting a barrier to firearm ownership would greatly reduce the number of teens and young adults who own them, strongly reducing homicides and suicides. All the right winger gun nuts who care about guns would still have them. Gun buyback program to remove the number in supply.

From the thread so far, my top 3 are:
Prevent private companies from buying non-commercial real estate, and forcibly sell within a number of years.
Politicians can no longer invest. They instead get a juicier retirement plan than they previously had based on number of years served, fixed rates, not related to the market or inflation whatsoever.
Deport illegals.
Runner up 4th idea in my head is instate a maximum age limit to presidency. No one older than 65 or so can get instated in office (VPs have to be younger too). I'm cool with them keeping the 35 minimum age requirement.

If you have a certain amount of criminal convictions, you get the death penalty automatically. Less if they are major crimes, like two and you're done. But even things like theft under $5000 you have a limit. Crimes need to have severe penalties as a deterrent and right now obviously a lot of people don't care if they go to jail.
Same with the homeless and addicts on the streets. Give them a time limit and give them every resource they need to get clean and have employment. If, after three years they choose to still be on the streets then they get euthanized as well.
Institute term limits on the Supreme Court and any other political office. Two terms and that's it. And any higher office (above a municipal job) has to have prior political experience. State people have to have municipal experience, congressmen have to have at least one that qualifies.
