Las Vegas Sucks

Seriously was there like two weeks ago

BRB crackheads everywhere
BRB resorts fees
BRB hotels are either “luxury” “suites” for a $3,000 a night and kept up like chit or $50 Excalibur/Circus Circus hellscape tier.
BRB everyone has their hands out for a tip
BRB $30 McDonalds tier burger
BRB almost all buffets gone
6/5 BLACKJACK
BRB 2/3rds of the dealers and 1/2 the guests are Chinese
BRB Poker rooms infested with sweaty nerds reading poker theory books in between hands
BRB TRIPLE ZERO roulette
BRB all other towns in Nevada suck azz Reno’s casinos are just high rise dumpsters

Should I just become Chinese and go to Macau?

I spent one day or so there a few years back. I found it OK. I watched the water-show in front of the Bellagio hotel. I liked the bright lights and overall vibe. I did think back to the movie "Showgirls" when i was there

Buddy's Jersey Eats in the Linq was a good deal, $12-15 for most items, also Haut Doggery… the High Roller ferris wheel was a lot of fun too, $68ish for the happy hour ticket, open bar and all you can drink. Tipped $5 on my first drink and the bartender doubled up on all my drinks, got fcked up in the 30 minute ride lol. X Burlesque and X Country shows were great too.

Not arguing any of your points, but it was fun.

The last few people I know that went to Vegas said it wasn't all that hot. They said it was more run down feeling like the last time it was renovated it was probably the 90's and it's trashy. It's just a town living on it's old name.

I remember going to Vegas several times as a kid when it was more like an amusement park. Fun as hell. Treasure Island used to have a giant pirate ship show on the outside. Casinos had more character. The strip wasn't cluttered like it is today. Homeless people were rounded up and treated like trash. Just more fun all around. But there was always a lot of Asians regardless.

It's worth going at least once just to see what it's like. I've been there so many times that I really have no desire to go back. But if you spend, say, 4 days there, you'll pretty much have experienced all that you need to.

The best pictures will never see the light of the internet, but them show girls on the strip know how to party.

Was there in January for the 3rd or 4th time and I'd say you're spot on. There for 4-5 days and we spent one day in Vegas proper. The rest we visited the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, and drove up to Zion National Park instead.

I’ve never been but my cousins took a trip there a couple years ago and said the same thing. Nothing but a bunch of homeless people and crackheads walking around. Scammers all over the strip. Everything is overpriced and trashy now.

I’ve been trying to convince my girl that we should just go to Atlantic City instead. In fact, I think us east coast people should build AC back and let Vegas crumble srs.

Good call.

Not to mention the casino floor is filled to the brim with tik tokers trying to become a slots YouTuber. Almost got into a fight with a broccoli headed Zoomer because I walked in his Fortnight dance or whatever the fook he was doing after winning a $300 “jackpot”

The most accurate description srs, I've lived in Vegas basically my whole life and there's not anything truly special here. It's a shell of it's former self, and it was never that great to being with. Nothing to do, no scenic places, everywhere is overcrowded.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… except for the STD - that you bring home with you.

Been three times, stayed at the Bellagio and had a the Venetian. The thing about Vegas is it's exciting for two days but then you've had enough. I couldn't imagine living there.

Basically Vegas used to make all of their revenue from gambling, so all of the entertainment was top notch and the prices for food and entertainment were subsided by the casinos to get people into their casino and keep them there.

Around the early 2010s (probably 2012 lol) for the first time food/ entertainment revenue surpassed gambling revenue and everything changed from there.

Now they know people are coming specifically for “nice restaurants”, shows, clubs, bottle service and they charge insane prices for medium quality. And they no longer try to subsidize these costs to get you to gamble, they just try to maximize their profit on entertainment.

It’s still fun if you’re early 20s and going to day club/ pool parties but once your past that phase just like OP said, it’s not really worth it.

Blackjack - The best strip game is at Treasure Island, believe it or not. Regular casino floor is $15 min and pays 3:2. The high limit room has I think a weekday $50 min (low for vegas), you can surrender and I believe resplit aces. Great game. All strip high limit rooms have excellent blackjack games but the limits can be very high - $1-300 at most MGM properties, $2-300 at Cosmopolitan, and $3-500 at Wynn. Very good rules

Roulette - The Plaza casino at the end of fremont has a single zero table right when you walk in. Its right next to a double-zero table which usually has the same amount of players. People are retarded and don't know the difference.

Buffets - Wynn, Cosmopolitan and the one at Ceasars are the best and none are cheap.

Poker - It's been the way you described for over a decade. It really ruined the "fun" and I only play mid stake tournaments <$500 entry.

The resort fee is BS and I hate it. It's not going anywhere because what else are you going to do? Find a casino/hotel you like, do most of your gambling there, mix in a few slot machines, and you'll likely get some room offers in a few months. Usually the resort fee is waived.

I have a love/hate relationship with Vegas. Fun at times, exhausting and redundant at others. If you go back again, check out the "Legacy Club" at the top of Circa in downtown. Incredible views and cocktails. 10/10 date spot for sure

unless you are a druggie… its definitely a place where you gotta go with the right crowd to have a good time.

i've lived there for a good while, the best places to go aren't the high end casino clubs, but the outskirt bars/lounges

Saw Metallica there years ago at UNLV. I really don't see the point in Vegas anymore unless you are going to a fight or concert. Might as well go someplace where sports gambling is legal on an app and ski (did this at Jackson Hole) or sit on the beach (did this in FL)

Never been to Vegas but I hear about all the people who have residencies at hotels and casinos (musicians, comedians, etc) and after one year they are completely wiped out and their career is pretty much over. The whole atmosphere just kills their spirit.

Vegas is rough, I lived there for 9 months, then got the fuk out. Homelessness and druggies are real bad out there, even in Henderson. Awful service at most of the casinos too, sometimes you're better off visiting outside of the strip. When I lived there, I just used no cover nightclubs to get into concerts and nightclubs for free.

I've never been to a place where 90% of the locals hate where they are, and wished they lived somewhere else. People are just brutally miserable and depressed.

I would say the opposite

Vegas is NOW where the talent goes when you are at the tail end of your career and trying to make last minute money before its all over.

I just got back from 5 days and had a great time. Came back with a few more bucks than I left with plus a hangover.

had a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen about a block from mgm if that. Cost me $640 for the 5 days total, no resort fee.

Dranks a belly full of beer in the room and walked across the street to the casino. Loved it.

The trick to vegas is you have to do it right and create your own fun. You can pay a fortune for a mediocre time but wont have anywhere near as much fun as if you just made the fun yourself.

I remember back in 2011-2012 I researched Vegas through advice of other miscers and went to Vegas. I had a good time. But I try to make it so I have a good time wherever I go.
