Hellblade 2 is trash

Who is this GAME made for ? It's barely a game

My half hour experience was an unskippable cutscene, and holding my left thumb stick forward to walk while hearing different voices in my left and right headphone.

The graphics are nice but even they are overrated, the game is 30 ****ing fps on my series x.

Garbage. I can't see this game doing well on GamePass at all. The metrics will show MS people "play" this for 10 minutes and delete

Lemme guess you played a game that's 90 percent graphics and audio on a Steamdeck and it was exactly the same as my desktop right

It was exactly. This is like OP picking up FIFA and complaining it was just a soccer simulator.

Yes, and it was hugely critisized for it. You'd think they would have learned.

5 fkn years of development for a five hour game that is mostly a movie. One hour gameplay for each year of development. Just fkn lol

NGL I actually like shorter cinematic games haha. These days I don't really have the motivation or time to play large complex games.

I've got it downloaded on my PC so will probably give it a go just for the graphics. I didn't like the first game's story. The whole mental illness angle bull**** doesn't appeal to me.

I'm a Sony guy, but I'll give my honest and hopefully unbiased thoughts after I finish it.

Even by sony standards this game is kinda sub-par. They had all the time and opportunity to really expand on the gameplay, but didn't bother for some reason.

Still better than Redfall though.

It's a typical Sony game but has Sonycels complaining that's it's just a walking cinematic. You can make this chit up LMAO. Guess if it's not under the Sony brand, it'll be chit in their eyes no matter what.

That's right. This game should be multiplat, would sell huge on that platform.

Says a lot about the kinda games sonycels are always shilling when they straight up hate on the same formula when it shows up somewhere else.

If this game was a PS exclusive you would have the usual suspects posting positive reviews for it and shilling it hard, hating on anyone who doesn't like it.

So I went into this with the mindset that it's not a game, but a visual and auditory experience. Here's my feedback so far as a "Sony pony walking simulator fanboy" or whatever the fck you console retards are saying now.

I put in 3 hrs so far on PC (RTX 3070). It runs very well at 2160p (4K) on a mid range PC. If I put it on a mix of low to medium settings, DLSS, I can get 40-50fps which is smooth AF thanks to VRR.

The graphics are incredible. Probably the most next gen graphical experience you'll ever have to date. Can't imagine it on a RTX 4090….maybe I'll upgrade to a 5070 or 5080 one day. The experience on a Series X may not be comparable to mine on a 3070 tho.

The HDR is incredible. Just make sure it's on Game Optimizer if using an LG OLED. For some reason I first had it on User and the blacks looked so bad.

The Dolby Atmos is incredible too. The thunder, the rain drops, the people knocking on wood, etc. I'm using a Sonos Arc system with surrounds and a mini sub. People recommend using spatial audio headphones but I'm not sure how headphones would showcase the things I just experienced.

Story-wise, I couldn't give a ****. But I'm not sure how anyone can say it's boring when they encounter Giant Girl for the first time. It was pretty cool. I hated the first game so I'm quite surprised I managed to play 3 hours straight on this one. It's definitely a tech demo though, but gives you a glimpse of what real games could look like next generation. If they can make a final fantasy game that looks like this then HHhhhhhhnnnnGGGGG

There were some aspect of the graphics that were a bit of a letdown. I had resolution at 4K and texture details at high.

The overall fidelity is amazing when viewed from far away. But it breaks down when you try to view stuff up close with photo mode lol.

In particular, the moss on the rocks was definitely done better in HFW. It was just sharper and detailed with more polygons and that was the thing that made my jaw drop in HFW.

Also, the sky and cloudbox sucks. There's this awful grain to it and a majority of the sky looks static and not moving.

The water seems a bit off too. It looks too thick if that makes sense. In the opening area on the beach, the waves looked like jello lol

These are just nitpicks. The overall fidelity package is amazing, minus the heavy vignette (dark corners) and grain.

There's some ini changes you can do to get rid of all that post processing crap. Check reddit or youtube. Makes the game look so much better.

I don’t mind a good ol tech demo to showcase how good a game can look. It’s a great demonstration on what the potential of unreal 5 and its tech is. I’ll enjoy the show. So far it’s mind blowing how beautiful this game is.

Looked at some footage today and I have a few thoughts.

Graphics look great and overall probably the best out there but I don't think textures or art style are all that impressive. @obmas mentioned above I think horizon has better textures but this game does the lighting much better which adds more to the realism. I think another reason it isn't dropping my jaw as much is that the areas of the game just seem dark and sameish whereas in Horizon there are so many different biomes that have different artstyles and popping colors. You can go from deserts to grassy fields, snowy mountains, swamplands, redwood forests, beaches with a tropical feel etc.

Anyway moving on from graphics what's with the constant voices in her head all game that just won't shut the fuk up. I was annoyed just looking at gameplay, the voices just keep whispering gibberish over and over and over. It needs to be reduced by like 80% at least.

Yeah so I just played it but the post processing and film graining really ruined the gameplay experience for me. I went back to play horizon forbidden trannies that has probably the best post processing and film graining I have ever seen in my life.
