Its crazy how huge the modern heavyweights are now, they are massive well over 6 foot 3 inches tall, and all weighing over 220 pounds accept for 6 foot 7 Deontay Wilder who weighs 214. Tyson Fury 6 foot 9 and 300 pounds, Lennox Lewis 6 foot 5 and 240,
The only short heavyweights during the giants era were Mike Tyson and David Tua both 5 foot 10 barefoot, Tua was a stocky and powerful Samoan puncher, would have loved to see him and Tyson fight back in the early 2000s.
But if Rocky Marciano fought today he would probably be at the middleweight division, they would tell him to cut to 160 pounds
There are fighters who fight at 147 pounds who walk around at 175 to 180 pounds, Errol Spence and Terence Crawford both cut from the 170s. Keith Thurman who is 5 foot 7 and fights at 147 cuts down from the 180 pounds range.
Canelo Alvarez walks around at 180 pounds and fights at 168 pounds
Ryan Garcia the lightweight boxer walks around at 170 pounds and cuts down to 140 pounds.
All this weight cutting stuff sucks though, I think they need to get rid of day before weigh in and only do same day weigh iin again so fighters would fight closer to their natural weight instead of cutting 20 pounds for a size advantage so they can rehydrate 24 hours later and put water back.
