Why don’t more people become vigilantes and target criminals?

Just think about it criminals have piles of cash and they can’t call the cops on you if you rip them off why not just become a vigilante and target criminals.

Because they’d end up in jail or dead. The laws need to be tougher in order to get crime under control.
