It took me like 5 hours to find a EV charger yesterday for electric car

Yesterday was July 3rd everyone was traveling, I went to look for a car charger at 4:30 and didn't find an open charger until around 9pm.

I was running on fumes down to 5 percent battery, The EV go chargers were taken and the Electrify Americas. I went to Walmart it was packed and they had 6 chargers all taken with 3 waiting in line for them, then I drove to the del taco one and they had two in the parking lot one broken the other one in use and two cars waiting for next, I saw another charger open at Sams club one was open then by the time i got there someone got it so I waited 20 minutes and then saw some open at Dollar tree drove there then some Korean guy took it right when I go there.

The worst was when someone parked in the EV go parking spot at the other walmart and he wasnt even an EV he was just a douche bag who didnt want to park far so he saw the spot open and parked there.

I finally found one open and it was in a lone shopping center dark and empty there was three charging stations, and two were broken and it was slow.

I kept looking over my shoulder it took me 45 minutes to charge to 75 percent, it was slow as fuk and one of the worst charging experiences, whats strange is they had 30 tesla chargers at this mall but they put them all the way on the other side they had several people charging there so at least they didnt feel alone.

This is the downside of getting an EV, mines is just a loaner my car is in the shop and they are on break so they lent me a KIA EV.

I dont think ill buy one, its a pain in the ass to find an open charging port and then people try to sneak in and take the spot even though you are waiting next. I was down to the point where I was almost empty and would have had to call Triple A to toe my car to the nearest charger.
