BREAKING: US Base in IRAQ hit! Biden is on it…

Since it happened between 10a-4pm!!

PRE-PAIR!

BREAKING NEWSAmerica's Ain-al-Asad base in Iraq is hit by missiles as Middle East crisis spirals

Rockets were reportedly fired at Iraq's Ain al-Asad air base which hosts U.S. and other international forces.

Two Katyusha rockets were fired at the base in western Iraq, security sources said.

It was not clear if the attack caused any casualties or damage inside the base, the sources said.

One security source said the rockets fell inside the base.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to meet with his national security team in the Situation Room later on Monday amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but that shît happens pretty regularly. When I worked in Baghdad from 2019 to 2023, we'd get hit on average once per week from IDF. It slowed down a lot shortly after Trump vaporized Soleimani, but PMFs are always angry enough about something to fire off some rockets or mortars

Maybe, but in '05 it was lit. I wasn't a Marine, so I don't know how active it was for them but we went live almost every day. I did enjoy the pool there the three or four times we were actually able to go. Hit up the fast food joints there. I would get my Sunkist from the PX there too. I was in Hit, Iraq in '05 and we had ourselves a good time.

For grunts Al Asad was just a pass through going in and going out of country. We took a CH-53 from Al Asad up to our COP near the Syrian border. We were focused on disrupt insurgent travel from the north side of the Euphrates to the south. They would take boats across at night, emplace IED's, then scurry back to north side of river. Coalition force presence on north side was scarce due to limited access. We only had like a single bridge across the river in our entire AO, which means u squeezed your angus shut every time you drove across it.

There was little bridge near Al-Baghdadi that got destroyed by an IED and demolished a 7 ton while we were there. The only time I ever had dealings with anything from Asad, combat wise, was when two Cobras showed up to one of our firefights and things went squirrelly. The let loose those 20 MM cannons and Mighty Mouses after about 20 minutes of strafing the area. It was wild. We had an all-arms coordinated firefight. Artillery batteries, mortars, dismounts, Cobras, Abrams. Good times. I miss it srs.

yea baghdadi was a bit south of our AO. We were peppered along the euphrates from the dam in haditha up to AQ, 2006 into 2007.

Haditha was HORRIBLE in 2005. Faces getting sliced off and bodies dragged through the streets. The jarheads took that personally, of course, and destroyed villages huehue. They did other things, but we don't talk about those.
