Did you ever consider competing in the Olympics when you were younger?

If so, what event? I wanted to be a runner because my mother had been in the junior Olympics as a teen as a runner

I did ok as an amateur but at 5’9/welterweight it is the most competitive division

Statistically the odds of making a career out of it were against me so I went the safe route of law/economics

Every time I watch professional sports especially the Olympics because it has such odd sports in it a lot of times with athletes who just found out about it and had the money and opportunity to practice it (but many people who had that same chance could've been on the team instead), I always think to myself if my parents had invested just a little bit of money and inspired me to try different athletics that I could've done something in a strength based sport, which if you think about it is a lot of the sports in the Olympics.

My parents never did anything like that for me, even the opposite, my mom would always tell me bs like looks aren't everything when I was muscular AF. Pretty much telling me I'm wasting my time.
