They’ll get your DNA one way or another, but I don’t recommend giving it to them and then paying them to take it. Besides- what would you learn from it that would make your life more complete?

Safe as in will it hurt you? It's perfectly safe.
Safe as in will your DNA will end up in a Government database somewhere, where someday it may be used against you without your knowledge and consent? It's 100% unsafe.

Basically this and everyone’s DNA Profile is tied to their personal information (credit cards used to purchase the kit, social media, full government names, relatives you’ve matched with, etc.)

I did it about 10 years ago so I’ve been conned, too late for me, but there’s good reason to be cautious, OP.

My mom and brother did it to find out that they're 100% Northern European (no chit. Mom's parents were both from Germany, dad's grandparents all 4 from Sweden). Then they were trying to talk me into doing it "You'll get a discount because we did it." Daughter's was kinda interesting tho. (Wife is Polynesian/Micronesian/Jamaican).

I mean i don't need to take a DNA test to know i likely have more Spaniard blood than i do indigenous american. and jbol @ the tinfoil hats saying the government will now have your DNA... And how does that affect you? You're essentially a no body in the grand scheme of things. why the **** would they clone you or what the **** could they use your DNA in.. We already walk around with a tracking device that's always at least 20 feet within range of us.

They can sell it on to who they like. Also there is the problem with hacking groups-like the ones who recently hacked the company that does blood test results for the NHS & threatened to release people's test results online if a fee wasn't paid. Also your details can be passed onto law enforcement if they request it.
