Why do tennis players live longer than any other athletes?

Statistically they always rank at the top of the list. Why is that the case? There are plenty of other sports that require intense cardio over long periods of time. Is it the HIIT, stop/start aspect of tennis that does it? You would think that boxing, cycling, swimming, etc would be even more ideal.

because it requires the least amount of athleticism second to golf probably.. but golf probably attracts more degen behavior like heavy drinking and cigars and you need zero cardio to play it at the most elite level

You wot m8? Tennis matches can last over 6 hours. These athletes are cardiovascular beasts with extreme endurance and flexibility.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s probably because it’s one of the few active sports that you can play as you age. Most others become too brutal for your joints.
