what does an airfryer do differently to an oven?
to me it seems like a big scam. everyone has ovens in their house, but maybe it's because ovens last too last/don't get replaced often enough so they've designed a way to make people spend money on something they don't need (but think they need)
is an airfryer much more economical or something? i understand an oven is big and maybe seems like a waste to heat it up to cook one chicken breast. is this it?

Lastly you can remove the trays and wash them in the dishwasher whereas cleaning an oven is an actual chore

Air fryer, ice cream maker, potato fries maker, popcorn makers, etc take up way too much space unless you've got a business or something

I have an infrared oven.
It is essentialy a glass bowl with a halogen light bulb and a fan.
It works by putting infrared light directly on to the food and the fan to evenly spread heat.
works sort of like a barbecue upside down. The heat comes from the infrared light and it shines directly on to the food.
Very quick to heat up and cook. I use it to roast veggies potatos chips steak. I put things on top aluminium foil no cleaning. works for me.

it circulates air which a conventional oven does not do. a convection oven will though.

Same thing as a convection oven. It’s an oven with fan that circulates hot air.
Only difference is that it’s smaller and takes less time and energy to heat up.
I like it. I use mine all the time for single portion meals and reheating leftovers.
But mine is a combo air fryer/ toaster oven. So a bit more convenient

It's a countertop convection oven that heats up very quickly. Easier to clean up, more economical to run ect.. I always recommend it as a must have appliance . I have two, one is the traditional single basket and the other is the dual basket one.. but the i usually keep the single basket put away

I bought a dope ass thing that's a combo toaster oven/air fryer and I absolutely Fkn love it. I use it for anything that's small enough to fit which is generally most things.
Air frying is God tier for alot of leftovers also.
I'm not cooking steaks in it but I do wings and fish and hot dogs and stuff.
