Is there anything more pathetic than D-day veterans?

Swoop in at the finish line after Stalin's sending millions of potato heads to die meatgrinder style.

Germany, the homeland of the efficiency and efficacy of the Wermacht, held out against 20 countries going ham on it just after conquering all of Europe and making the UK cry.

All US D-Day veterans should be tried for stolen valour.

History is written by the victors and they lost TWICE.

Fuk of btw with made the UK cry. They got their chit pushed in by the RAF which is why they failed with their little invasion attempt.

A bombing was repelled initially. But the victory over the Nazis was 100% Soviet.

UK was otherwise surrounded and a planned invasion would have taken them in.

Definitely wouldn't call them pathetic but anyone who know WWII knows that the biggest losses for the Wehrmacht happened on the Eastern front and that D day was like a walk in the park in comparison to Stalingrad.

Germany was already fighting a defensive war by the time the Americans got involved.

and they only ended up in that position because they took on more than they could chew which was already impressive

Negged op for what he said bout the guys the stormed the beach, but when you look at history, you can't help but thing "WTF" when it comes to the commanders.

The Germans had that area very fortified because it was the closest point between mainland and England. So we picked an area to do an amphibious landing with -500 terrain disadvantage "yeah lets pick some cliffs packed with German machine guns to storm". We already were in Italy and a soft area would have been southern France which was almost undefended. Even going about 100MI down the coast there would have been better landing areas which were less defended, harder for the Germans to defend, and easier to walk aboard. Sometimes I wonder if it's commanders playing with young dude's lives to fuel their ego. German commander "you could never take this beach" American commander "watch this"

Hitler viewed the British with their Anglo-Saxon blood as Aryan (superior).

The guy was actually pretty damn based. Would an invasion have been possible if he wasn't getting tag teamed by Europe?! Possibly, but it has only ever been achieved once in 1066.

Of course he didn't want to fight the UK - he was sad and surprised they got cucked by the... so hard.
