Do you go 50/50 with your gf/wife or do you pay all the bills? Salary?

I'm partial to paying all the bills tbh, would be mighty hard to day and age though. Not to mention taking a risk with divorce court.

I pay all the bills because I was doing that just fine before she existed. She buys groceries and what ever the hell else she wants out of her income.

Pretty much this. Though I also buy a large portion of our groceries too. I pay at Costco, she pays at Sams. (Our respective memberships). My girl pretty much covers half the groceries, her car note and her car insurance.

Even though she has her own career and makes good money she asks permission before she makes any 'big' purchases, even with her own money. Also have full access to her bank account and 401k. While we don't technically have a combined income or bank account I'm in full control of her finances.

She has it good. But she genuinely makes my life easier around the house.

Not trying to be an arse but you come off as quite controlling. Is she allowed to take a piss without having to ask your permission?

She pays for almost all of the bills and groceries.

I pretty much only pay for discretionary stuff for myself or when we're on dates.

Then again, she's a stay-at-home mom so all of it comes from my paycheck. Joint account crew. We're a team.

If she is anything like mine, and most other women out there, she probably didn't know chit about finances before they got together.

Mine just bought an new car. With cash. She knows now.

To be fair I do agree that big purchases should be discussed as a couple. I've handled finances my whole life because I had to. Some men are just as bad when it comes to finances though…that's not just a women thing…

Wife is a stay at home mom who runs a home bakery and has a real estate license but doesn’t do much ever since we had kids.
I cover everything out of my salary and with our rentals.

She's traditional. She thinks the man should run the house-hold and control the finances. She also thinks I should be making all of the major decisions life/finance wise. When she has a baby she wants to be a SAHM. Pretty much just cooking, cleaning, raising kid, run errands, maintain the house/yard. I'll do everything else/fund everything.

If I had to guess. I'd say she's weighed her options. She wants to be a wife/SAHM. She knows with me she'll have an easy life doing what she wants to do. And there won't be any hard times financial or otherwise. In the mean-time she wants me to have complete control of her finances.

I haven't had any kind of life advice or help of any kind from the time I was 15. I've gone on a 22 year win streak since then where I haven't made any poor decisions, have never had any help of any kind and have never taken any L's of any kind. I'll never not be in complete control of my house-hold/finances. And I'd never be with a woman that argues/disagrees with me about anything. Over 5 years in not a single argument/disagreement with her.

Her life has been on easy mode since she got with me. Imagine for a second if you could go through life without making any mistakes. No failures or bad decisions of any kind. No need for any regrets. Literally everything turns out good. Everything about life is easy and carefree. No stress of any kind. Etc. Probably worth it to give up some element of 'control' for that.

My wife is a 50/50 shareholder/director in the company so the accountant splits all of the income/losses, pays company taxes and determines a profit and then any distribution is split 50/50

We have jobs as well but we’re both on leave and that money is pretty inconsequential so idk where it goes
